As a person that's single at the moment the best thing about being single on valentines day or any other day could be beneficial in terms of expressing ones ability to love themselves. Taking oneself out, engaging in activities that could improve ones mental health and wellbeing, spoiling themselves with food and more or else having fun their non toxic friend group. Achieving ways to be a better person to themselves and environment

In terms of someone thats in a relationship I believe that valentines day or any other day would be a moment for rekindling or increasing love between partners by going out together, planning beautiful dates for themselves, reassurance, giving of gift... more or less speaking the 5 love languages to each other. It would be beautiful living everyday knowing your partner will always be there for you, will always remind you of their love and not only say but showcase (act) their love for you. They should also remind themselves of who they were and who they are now. How the relationship has bettered their lives as valentines is a day or LOVE.

In terms of married couples, valentines day or any other beautiful day should be one of reminders, renewal of vows and promises, fulfilment of those promises. This moments could be used to go for a honeymoon, a planned out date, exchange of gifts surprises as well as displaying the 5 love language. Couples can also involve their kids, take them out with them and shower them with love and show them how to love by displaying love to eachother.

Valentine's day being a celebration of romance and love, i think every person can enjoy it whether they have a partner or not. Being married to the love of your life, Valentine's day is a celebration of the love the husband and wife shared throught their married life, nothing makes it more enjoyable than spending time with the spouse to do something romantic as dancing, cooking and even building something they think is a symbol for their love.

Being a couple, the fire of romance and love is the highest and they're really creative in their own way of celebrating Valentine's day, with their energies at their highest, watching couples in love is a sight which spreads love through itself.

As a single through Valentine's day, i found i best to watch movies of romance and love, being in love filled with love and walking out sharing love, kind gesture giving out roses to ladies, Just doing something out of love makes much of a difference, hand out chocolates, with no expectations. You surely will make someone's day and see them smile. Since it's Valentine's day, everyone would be willing to accept chocolates. Trust me.

Single people are much more capable of spreading love on wide scale, than couples or married people.

A beautiful day, for love, care, romance. I hope i go out and get to see people dancing on the streets, graceful and beautiful, smiles everywhere. A celebration.

As someone that's been single for almost 15 years now, I would have to say the best thing about being single, not just on Valentine's day, but year round, is that you learn to be happy with YOURSELF. You rely on yourself for your own happiness. If I want flowers, chocolates, or a stuffed animal? I can buy them for myself. I want to treat myself? I can get it myself- not just on Valentine's day, but all year round :) And yes, I can and will- as should anyone, single or taken.

First off, kudos to those of you that are married or in relationships: that is very awesome and yes, everyone deserves happiness! But for those of us that have given up on relationships, have bad luck with dating, or are just happier alone [not lonely; there is a difference], being single on Valentine's day is just another day for us.

And honestly? I would say the majority of us that are single are thriving just as well if not better than those in relationships. Because we know our worth and aren't just in a relationship for the sake of saying, "I'm taken."

There are several great advantages for me being in a long term relationship.

1. Every minute of the day, I know that someone loves me and I know that she is happy because I love her.

2. Every day, I have someone with whom I can laugh and make the best of life. When I go to the grocery store, she is there with me and we can both act silly, dancing and joking with me as we traverse the aisles of the store.

3. If I am troubled or not feeling well, I have someone who cares and who will support me.

4. I don't wake up alone. At the end of the work day, I don't return to an empty house. At the end of the day, I don't go to sleep alone.

5. When we have a conflict, I know she won't just pack her toothbrush and say "goodbye." Like me, she wants this to last and she will not impulsively discard what we have worked to build together.

6. She helps to take care of Uncle Thunder, an elderly cat who has been very loyal to me, even though she doesn't like cats.

7. When we talk about the future, everything we say is built on the assumption that we will be together.

8. She is Chinese but she doesn't try to convince me to eat tree ear fungus!

9. I have a great travelling companion for car trips (my favorite way to travel.)

10. I know that for the rest of my life, I will have a partner who will accept me just as I am.

I will attempt to speak to coupling-up with the right coupling. She is one who is an instinctual feeler almost to the point that is scares you into "straight-good boy". She's a pusher in as much as "do the right thing and lead". And she's quite capable at 35,000-150,000 to do life on her own.

This coupling is a high-standard, ride it out commitment type, and hold onto arms with both hands walking down sidewalk when moved away from traffic side. This is a graciousness, if you ever stumble upon, that you better not let get away... or even your Mom will disown you. :-)

There are so many things that are great about being married but if I had to choose one, I’d say it’s the partnership you build. You go through life as a team and no matter what life throws your way, you have each others backs and you vow to get through it together.

You don't have to worry about anyone and what they are doing but you can take yourself and go out on a date and do things you love to do. In my opinion, the best thing about being single is that you have the freedom to do whatever you want, are blessed with many opportunities to meet new people and make many different connections and you have total control of your time.
Being in a relationship is wonderful, but a good relationship is based on compromise. From how you spend your holidays to what to eat for dinner, having a partner means always taking someone else’s opinion into consideration.

When you are single, none of that matters. All of your time is your own, and you don’t ever have to worry about someone else’s schedule. If you are in medical school, a busy executive, or otherwise strapped for time, then you will not have an easy time making a relationship work.

You also get to explore your interests freely
Being single means you have more liberty to be yourself or find yourself. You can travel alone, take risks, meet new people, develop new skills, and make guilt-free decisions without the fear of losing someone in the process.

Furthermore, when you’re single, you have no distractions, so now you can focus on your personal and professional goals to achieve your personal best. You may also be exploring your passions, and there’s no one to take your time and attention away from the other meaningful things in your life.

On the other hand, when you’re in a healthy relationship, your partner will be a source of inspiration for you. They can build your confidence and help you become a better person or motivate you to change. The right partner will help you realize your true worth. You’ll have a hand to hold through thick and thin. It’s great to be independent in life, but it’s even better to have someone to turn to when you get tired sometimes.

After a rough day at work, instead of going back to an empty apartment and eating dinner alone, you can go on a date with your partner. When you’re sad and anxious, you can vent with them and ask for their advice. They can also distract you from the other things in your life that are causing you stress.

It all depends on who you are and what matters more to you, your personality, interests, future goals and the reasons why you feel unhappy in a relationship. Each individual is different. It's a matter of what you truly want and how you feel about yourself and your significant other.

At the moment and, for the past 22 years, there's BEEN no one in my life and, in as such, I can't say that Valentine's Day is anything more than just another day of the week for me, anymore. Just as Christmas and my B-day have been ever since I lost the last member of my family 2 years ago but, when I had someone, it WAS pretty nice!!
I REALLY miss having love! But, I guess I need a girlfriend for that, just as I REALLY miss being on stage but, I need a BAND for THAT!
When I had love, we did all kinds of great things together! We were inseparable! We were almost like John & Yoko, we hardly ever went anywhere on our own. The good thing is, she didn't try to push her way into the band with caterwauling and I didn't tell her how to write her dissertation on Indian philosophy.
We'd go to our fave pizza shop, get a huge za and sit there for an hour or two eating it and talking. I'd walk the dogs with her or, we'd take very late night walks alone through the park on this mile long walking path they have in the woods and, as soon as we'd get away from the main road next to it, we'd strip naked and walk almost to end of the path where there was this huge rock the size of a bath tub and we'd sit there on it and look at the lights of the buildings downtown about 5 or 6 miles away and make out for about an hour before we'd head back to the house and get dressed again just before hitting the start of the path. Sometimes, we'd only go as far as the second floor roof at her place, climb out there and make out under the stars with an even closer view of the lights in town. There was nobody else around that'd be able to see us so, being naked was no big deal. And it felt GREAT!! Sometimes, we'd get in a sleeping bag in the back yard and sleep there and make out or even make flippy-floppy!! Some nights, we'd stay inside and put on some great music (Tangerine Dream, Enya, Solar Quest, B-Tribe, Enigma, Deep Forrest, Orb, etc.) and make out in the waterbed. (They say it's impossible to have sex in a waterbed! We proved them wrong many times!!)
We did a LOOOOOT of kissing, hugging and telling each other how much we love each other!! One night, we went to see Ringo Starr and we were only about 3 rows from the stage. We were standing up when he started to sing, "Photograph". I turned to her and sang the first line to her, "Every time I see your face it reminds me of all the places we used to go" and then, I kissed her. When I turned back to look at the stage, there was Ringo pointing straight at us with a big smile on his face!! We had such a great love for each other!! If we were in bed and I woke up for any reason in the middle of the night, even just to turn over, I'd plant a very soft kiss or two on her lips before going back to sleep. We usually spent all night every night wrapped up in each other's arms! Anytime we HAD to separate, like her going to the library to work on her dissertation, or if either of us had to go to work, the last thing we'd do is kiss each other, hug and say, "I love you!" And, if one of us would take a few moments to leave the view of the other, we'd flash each other the sign language for, "I love you" just before going out of view. When we'd get back together, she'd have a big smile on her face and we'd hug and kiss and say, "I love you!" again. She even taught me how to say it in her language. She also taught me how to say, "You are my life!" and I said both of them to her frequently! And they were usually followed by a passionate kiss and hug. So strong was my love for her that, one night, before we moved in together, she was staying over at my place and went to bed around midnight but I was working on a recording project I needed to finish and was dealing with that `til 3:00 a. m. when, she came downstairs and said she was going back home since I wasn't coming to bed with her and she walked out the front door! I, barefoot, walked out after her and tried to get her to stay. She continued to walk and I followed her. It was after 3 a. m. so, there were no buses so, she was intent on walking home!! That's at least a 7 mile walk! We walked at least 2 miles, across the river, past the Zoo and she found an open bar with jitney driver in it that she hired to take her the rest of the way home. At first, she told me to get out of the car and the driver was on her side but, after a few minutes, she relented a bit and let me stay in the car and we went back to her place and, by the time we went to bed, we had everything patched up. I had to get my mother to get my shoes and bring them over to me the next day! There was cinders and broken glass here & there on the bridge but, I didn't care! I didn't want her to go back home and I CERTAINLY didn't want her to make the trip alone!! part of the trip would take her through a couple of the roughest places in town! So, I HAD to make sure that, if she WAS gonna go all the way home, she got home safely!! But, we both made it without issue.
If it was cold out and we were both waiting for a bus, I'd open my coat and let her in and wrap it around her to help keep her warm. Being from India, she couldn't take the cold that well.
The whole 10 years that we were together, we only ever had one major argument and that was about 3 years into the relationship, and it only lasted about 5:00.
Quite often, when my band were playing a gig in Erie or Youngstown (a number of hours away from here), she'd make me a stack of chipatis to eat when I got hungry, something she really didn't seem to like doing but, she said that if I bought the Indian flour, she'd make them for me.
Most often, she'd get up early to go study and write in the library and, later, when I got up, I'd go over to where she was and sit with her and do my own research for a project I was working on. She was always quite thrilled to have me there with her and, she'd turn her chair sideways to rest her naked feet on my lap for a while but, she wouldn't stay much longer and would decide that we go outside and sit under a tree together and continue our studies.
I was sure we were gonna be together the rest of our lives!!

Yes, ofc i feel scared. Im so used to sharing everything. I was so used to having someone around.

But the reality is I am my own person, and if I can’t enjoy being single, how can I enjoy being with someone else?

In my experience , I learned some important truths about being single:
1. Its an opportunity to be by yourself, with yourself.

2. You gotta let go of the past, or you will never appreciate the present.
Yes, like all i too have fond memories of my exes, but that was in the past. I know I will always cherish those memories, but I need to stop clinging to them to live for today and plan for tomorrow.
I would quote buddha where he said "every day you are born again—that means new experiences and adventures for today!"

3. Only when you have lost everything, you are free to find out what you were missing.

When I lost her, I truly believed I had lost everything. I can’t even start telling you how many tears I shed during those difficult times.

Now that I’m single, I have an opportunity to do all the things I put off while I was putting all my energy into my relationships. I have to believe that I will eventually have the things I lost, but for now I’m taking this time to enjoy myself and complete myself.

4. Sometimes change can be good.

there's been a part of me that be afraid of quick change. Adaptation takes time, yet I’m already thinking of all the possibilities—meeting new people, going to new places, tackling new projects.

Sometimes change is the best thing for us, as it opens us up to new activities and environments.

5. Being single does not have to mean being afraid to love.

My heart has been bashed, bruised, and broken. But I don’t feel traumatized, and I know I will love again. Hopefully the next someone will treasure and treat my heart with love and respect.

Staying open to love isn’t just about attracting a new relationship; it’s about being open to life.

6. Even if you’re single, you still have so much to appreciate.

I have learned that being single is not the end of the world,” a friend said to me. She continued by saying, “There are other problems that are more depressing than being single—hunger and homelessness, for instance.”

This felt like a slap in the face to wake me up. It reminded me that even with a broken heart, I am still standing. I’m still breathing. There are still so many possibilities for me.

7. You’re not alone; you still have family and good friends.

Dont hesitate to go out to them, and ask for help, let them know how much u miss them. And trust me it will takes time but you would realize how decluttered and uncomplicated and easy life has become.

You don't have to worry about getting the best gift or best meal to impress your significant other for this highly commercialised occasion. Valentine's Day is a great opportunity to rip men off.

Best thing about Valentine's Day when you are dating:

It is the most romantic time of the year to write a love poem, create a love song and play it on an instrument for your partner. It is the best time to book a staycation to have kinky sex with romantic songs playing in the room the whole day long.

Best thing about Valentine's Day when you are married:

Even if you might not receive any flowers, teddy bears, chocolates, cards and gifts, you already know that your partner loves you enough to be committed to you and marry you. In comparison, tons of couples who exchange such romantic gestures break up. So which is actually more romantic? 😊

Here is what everyone tells me the Best Thing about being single.

(Ahem, these are people words Not Mine)

1. You are free

2. No one can weigh you down

3. You have so much potential

4. you have more opportunities

5. Being in a relationship is hard, ask anyone

I took these opinions to heart ❤️. But, as a single girl. My heart ❤️ still wanted Love, Companionship, Friendship, Protection.

Why did I want ❤️ Love?

To know that I was alive and existed.

Yes I am blessed that my family is still alive and well. But they cannot fill in the void of a partner/soulmate. We also hardly communicate and I already feel like a ghost.

I’ve tried all the opinions and advices people who are single and in relationships. To enjoy my freedom and do things as a single girl.

I've:

1. Ate by myself at restaurants

2. Go to the movie theaters by myself

3. Tried getting a job and going to church to build my independences, social skills and communication

4. Hit on guys in public places

(But doing all these perks of being a single girl. Made me more of a ‘lonely’ girl. )

I have been on both sides of this. But being single definitely has more advantages. You can come and go as you please. You don't have to get dressed if you don't want to. There's also no jealousy involved i. e. drama. Life is too short for unnecessary crap. You can be alone without being lonely. I learned to be self sufficient before I was twelve. There's only two things a woman can do that I can't. Have babies and have a period everything else I've got covered. Some times the only way to know how someone truly is, is after you're married. You can't turn a hoe into a housewife especially if you never knew she was a hoe.

I think the best thing is that I look at a reflection of myself when I look at him. The bed feels incomplete without him. He is like a part of the blanket I need to have with me when going to bed.
He is my shield to protect me when things become too much, I am the pillar that keeps him from falling over when things come crashing down. We are a team, player 1 and player 2 playing this game together called Life and kicking its ass.
He is Home. Having him in my arms makes me feel so relieved and lucky.

You don't yet have to be able to go through big fights with your hussy or wifey.

Still enjoying 10 hrs of sleep or more a total every bedtime and can make up for sleep.

Not yet going into pregnancy and raising children up.

Long time being and bonding with your Mama, Papa, Big brother, Little brother and Little sister.

Do all the things I want in the internet as much as possible,

Not being able to stay up late with messaging and not having to miss my fave tv show and drama and movie for our dates.

And not obliged to offend your boyfriend/ girlfriend or make them jealous.

And no distraction in studies! 😄

I just got married, after fifty some years. Best thing about being married is I have a partner to enjoy life with on a daily basis. She complements me well and makes problem solving easier, I in turn reduce her stress at home. That frees up energy for both to have adventures and share with family and friends.

My dinner used to be p&J standing up all too often, for why would I take time to cook or enjoy anything by myself when I had busy tasks to do? I was always running around... and so often, alone. We sit down for dinner as family and that time is precious, whether we are trying new places or I'm cheffing.

I've been single for a while like three months and to be honest I don't mind being single on Valentine's Day. Like better for me buy my friends and myself chocolates, roses, teddy bears, etc.. Like what's the point of giving someone something when they might not even appreciate it. So, it's not that bad. Think of it like a day to gift yourself and your friends. It's not only about love it's about true friendship.

The best thing about being in a relationship for me on Valentine’s Day is having that one day between all the days filled with stress from work, etc. where you can focus on the love you have for each other and spend quality time together. My boyfriend and I are making homemade pizza together this year. No huge amounts of money needed but we can have fun with each other, be in each others company and enjoy the food we both love the most together!
