So I dated this guy for over three years. After he dropped his college classes, and seemed to start going through a mid life crisis at 24 because he didn't know what we wants to do in life, he comes to me and breaks it off because I want to live and a city and now he doesn't even though the whole time he told me he did. So now less than 2 months later he is dating another girl already. What is this about? how can he move on so fast? Does he really like her? I just don't get it.

Maybe he never wanted to live in a city and he was just saying he did to please you..he could have been scared. I've been there. Maybe he's just a scumbag and lied to you. Who really knows. I know that I move on to someone else pretty fast after a break up..a lot faster than most. It's not that I don't care about the other person..it's just that I don't want to sit around and dwell on it not working. I want to go out and have fun and meet new people. That's what I never understood about girls when they would shoot a guy down right away and be like I just got out of a relationship. Yeah? So what? You could meet the guy of your dreams that SAME night and never even know it if you decide to blow him off all because you're upset and or depressed about just dumping or being dumped out of a relationship. Hardly anyone ever thinks of this. =(

OK. First why should you care? You should be glad you are rid of him, and not waste your time thinking about him and what he does or not. Second, What's wrong with having a new girlfriend after two months? Some people "fall in love" within a few weeks of the first meeting. That doesn't mean anything. Just because you two spent several years together doesn't mean that he can't be "good at dating". Maybe that is even why he left you, because he likes dating and couldn't in a stable relationship. I don't know if he really likes her, but again, why should you care? That is none of your problem if he just took the first girl that crossed his path and doesn't actually love her. Just forget him and move on with your life!

You said yourself he's going through some sort of mid life crisis maybe his new girl just fits into that. But if you've been broken up for 2 months its probably time for you to move on or just let him do his thing. 2 months doesn't seem like a long time after you've been together that long but really how long did you think he would wait?

First off the advice below me sucks :] I agree to a point though. Him being with someone else shouldn't bother you, you two are broken up and it's been some time since the fact. However, it's not long enough to say he's totally over you either. No matter if he wants to be in a relationship with you or not, he was a part of your life and you were a part of his for a long time. Even just missing a persons presence is totally normal after a break up, that doesn't mean he's in love with you though.

This could mean one of two things, he's over you and you should move on. Or he's using this girl as a rebound. If she is a rebound, that still doesn't mean he wants to be with YOU but he's trying to help himself feel better about not having you in his life, friends or BF/GF. Take this in stride, if you're looking to get back with him, let his relationship play out..you'll only look stupid if you try and break them up. If you truly don't want to be with him, then just accept that he's found someone who makes him happy, which he deserves, and forget about it.

it's been more than a month. by now, he's over you. so don't think of him anymore and it's officially over between you two.
i agree you shouldn't care whether or not he likes her, it doesn't matter anymore. so what you do is move on
