Boy's: How do I break the touch barrier with him? Please help me

I know this guy who I work with. I happen to REALLY like him yet, I can't tell him because I'm afraid that it would be awkward (we are good friends). He is giving me very mixed signals and people even ASSUME that we are going out. When I describe the situation to people I know, they tell me that he has a thing for me and is shy. This boy always touches other girls playfully and NEVER me...however, I THINK I can feel the sexual tension between us...the question is; how do I break the touch barrier or make a move without creeping him out? (I'm NOT entirely positive that he likes me but we are good friends) help me please!
