Is this male bartender flirting or working?

So, Saturday night I went to a bar with a group of friends and I decide to buy a round of drinks for my friend. I'm usually a nice customer and I asked the bartender to take a shot with me and tipped him well after and closed my tab.

[The bar was semi-busy and a classy place. Usually where young professionals go to.]

I then leave to hangout with my friends at the patio. Then me and my friend decided to get one more shot. So as I walked towards the bar and I noticed, in my peripheral vision, that he was looking at me. As I go towards the bar I see him and he sees me and comes straight towards me to hear my order.

He then made my shots and made himself a shot right after w/o me even asking him to take a shot with us. So, I give him my card and closed my tab. To make sure my judgment wasn't wrong I asked my friend if he was cute and she said he was definitely a little above average.

After he gave me the bill, I asked for his name and I told him mine. He then told me afterwards that that night was his last day working there and is moving to a different bar and works on tues and wed. Afterwards I told him are you going to remember me and he said yes and then I went back to my group of friends.

So, My question is was he working me to become a regular customer or was he interested in me and was being subtle for me to see him again?

I have also read a few articles which said that a lot of bartenders in general flirt for tips and a some would sleep around and get lots of numbers. I was wondering if this is a rare case where it could be different from the pack. Also note that tues/wed are usually slow nights where many people don't go downtown.

Any advice would help especially from a bartenders point of view. =)
