Can a relationship work if his friends don't like you?

Sounds like these guys are immature/jealous of your relationship with your guy. Even if he stills sees them 3 nights a week it is probably a specific three days that he does. Your guy probably isn't the spontaneous wing man anymore to accompany these fools on their guys nights out. I'm sure your boyfriend knows what a cool girl you are or he wouldn't still be with you. Sometimes when friends are unhappy or lonely they encourage someone to drop who they are with out of their own selfishness. I honestly wouldn't make any more attempts with these guys. If you see them be civil and that is all. Just like you can't make someone love you that doesn't, you can't force people to like you and befriend you either. Besides they are his friends not yours, he is allowed to have his separate life and so are you. You are in a good relationship with him, that is all that matters. Eventually if they want to keep their friend around they will try to get on your good side. P**** talks bs walks ok! lol. ;0)

I know how you feel! When I was dating my ex, he lived in a dorm suite with his best friends. Most of them hated me, especially the one that was closest to him. But my boyfriend thought that his friend was just jealous because he liked me too, or he was pissed off that he didn't have a girlfriend. In the end, my ex chose me over his friend. He realized his friend was being far too stubborn and wasn't willing to compromise. And although they stayed friends, he didn't hang out with him as much as he used to. This guy would also compare me to other girls and say that they were hotter, and my boyfriend would just say "that's stupid, you just don't like her." it helped that most of his other friends really liked me, so they would agree with him. We broke up but NOT because of this. These guys are jealous because you're taking away their friend. Your boyfriend needs to discuss it with them because they have no right to be so rude.

Yes, a relationship can last when your boyfriend's friends "hate" you. I have been there and let me tell you, it's hard to deal with! It's even worse when they talk crap about you when you are literally standing right there. I ignore it. It's hard to not care what they think since they mean so much to him but hopefully you're boyfriend is mature enough to not let his friends influence him when it comes to his love life. If it really bothers you so much, tell your boyfriend about it. Maybe he can help explain the guy to you a little more.

Those are the reasonable things to do, but I always go for the "taste of your own medicine" action. If he doesn't talk to you, then give him the cold shoulder as well. Leave this guy out of your relationship. He's just one person. He doesn't have to like you. You're not dating him!

sometimes we give non-verbal miscues. Maybe you roll your eyes when these people are talking. I had people think I was doing this because I would think of something and look up. Then people thought I was rolling my eyes and I was just doing the natural thing we do when we are accessing parts of our memory. Maybe you should see if you can talk to his friends to see what their deal is. A relationship can work with adversity. Ask him what problem they seem to have with you? Maybe he has some insight into why they don't like you. And if they don't like you for no reason at all, you just have to make do. Be happy that he introduced you to his friends at all. Maybe they will grow up one of these days.
