All of my friends tell me that I need to make my crush jealous since he left me in the friend zone, and he's taking my love for granted. Should I even do that first off, and how do I make him jealous?

I don't get jealous. If I cannot trust the woman I am with then we have not business being together. Watch out. You try and make him jealous if he is any real man, he will just tell you to screw yourself and dump you fast. Don't play games with someone's feelings..

First of all, if he really liked you, you don’t have to play all these games and ploys to get him to notice you and put you out of the friend zone!
Secondly, nothing you can do is going to make him like you more if you just accept the fact that he’s not into you. He friend zoned you. That’s it!
Last but not the least, you’ll just turn him off even more with your desperate attempt to get his attention by making him jealous and I feel sorry for the other guy you’re using against him.
Why don’t you focus on making yourself better and not for anyone? The right man will appreciate you which this one didn’t. And he might even wake up to his senses one day when you’ve reached your full potential and you’re already in the arms of another man! It happens!

But if I know awkward geeks..
Chances are that if he is also insecure he might feel like, if someone else is into you then he is 'off the hook' and safe from having to put in effort.
Or, it works out and he feels compelled to do something rash and quick.
Even if he do want you in all seriousness whether or not he decides to risk looking like a fool (which is what it takes to go for what you want), is dependent on his mindset, character and whether or not any of his other friends can push him into action.
If he do acts and goes for you.. and if my assumptions about being an awkward geek rings true.. then just be ready for that move not being all that subtle and may be very direct.
Or if he's an empathic, shrewed overthinker it might be all too subtle and is passed as not at all romantic.
But how would I know?

For me I just can't see this why would you want to hurt a guy to show him how much you like him or to trick him into liking you it makes no sense to me
This is really not the way to do it and the reason is is because guys some guys are so very sensitive the moment that you hurt them in a way to make them jealous it changes who they are now they're angry in a way and it takes them a long time to get over it so don't do something that will backfire the best way for you to do it is just walk straight up to them drop whatever you have in your hands to the ground put your hands on your cheeks and kiss them so deep and hard pick up your stuff and turn around and walk away when they say what the fuck just happened just turn around and say you and I did the balls in your court
Essentially to make him jealous you will need to show more interest in another guy. But that's a game.
If I had interest then I would lose it if you did that. You would also be playing the other guy which you shouldn't do.
Have your shown your interest unmistakably to the guy you like? Since you have a lot of guy friends he could easily think he is just one more and is conducting himself so. I think you should straight forwardly dissuade him from this by telling him the sit from your viewpoint. If he doesn't fancy you then you have to accept it.
He's not into you. Just like you're not into most guys who are interested in you. It's called equality.
And stop listening to your friends. Most women are known to get jealous and intentionally give bad advice so that their girlfriends won't find happiness. If these women are 'helping' you it's most likely because they know you're chasing a total loser. Maybe find better friends who have all/most of the stuff you dream of having. Those women also won't feel threatened by you & won't think of you as competition so there's no reason for them not to give you good advice.
You are assuming what turns you on will turn him on. It won’t.
Guys make up there within 30 seconds of meeting a woman if their attracted to them or not. He already made up his mind a long time ago that he isn’t interested in dating you. If he friendzoned you (but the friéndzone doesn’t exist right feminists?) then he definitely made up his mind about you. He’s spending time around and not feeling any urges.

DON’T get sexual with him unless and until he’s told you he likes you back and proved it by dating you for at least a month (long enough to discourage most players). And even don’t do it if your intuition says he’s faking it.

Guys generally don't get jealus, at least not me and my friends, and most other guys I know.
The guys getting jealus is usually the ones who is overprotective to their girlfriends.
Think of it in reverse. If you had a male friend that liked you but you only saw as a friend would you become jealous if he started seeing someone, flirting with someone? People need to learn you can't force a person to love you.
If he really did friendzone you, you can't make him jealous because he doesn't really want to get with you. I suppose if you started nailing a really, REALLY hot girl that he wants THAT would be one way to make him jealous. But otherwise, you're out of luck.
