I'm 16 years old and my boyfriend is 19 years old, is that wrong?

ok so, I've been with this guy for about 5 months, and I must say, these past 5 months have been the best.

He is just what I want, he's nice to me, he's outgoing, and he's a good country boy that works.

But, here's the downfall, I guess you could say, I'm 16.

I'm very mature for my age but I wonder what his friends think.

I grew up with one of his friends, I'm not worried about him.

its just the other guys.

I wonder if they think its bad or something,

I know I shouldnt care what others think, but come on, everyone wonders what others think sometimes.

I live in Indiana and I don't know if its legal.

My parents are okay with it.

but the way the law is now, what your parents think really doesn't matter anymore.

We have so much fun together and we just talk for hours on end.

its like we fit each other or something.

and yes, I know I'm only 16 and I don't know what I'm talking right?

well I do, he's just so amazing to me.

he completes me.

and...the way he looks at me I just know he honestly loves me.

im very hard headed and I don't put up with a lot and I see right through people.

but him, I know he's being serious.

and he wants this to be serious.

i just need some serious help on this topic.

please help me.

Not at all. The youngest guy I hang out with is my boyfriend. He's 20 almost 21 and I'm 19. Every other guy I hang out with is older. The oldest is almost 30. Age really isn't a factor. Being mature mentally on the same level is more important. Often times the guy will be older than the girl because lets face it woman mature a lot faster than men. (In most cases) As for worrying about it being legal or not, don't. If your parents are accepting and you both trust each other not to take advantage of that then you're good. The laws have nothing against who you can date and at what age. The law is put in place to monitor the age of sexual consent. It's when the law believes someone is of age and mature enough to logically decide to have sexual relations. So hold off on sex if that's what is worrying you.

Ok, I don't think there is anything wrong with your age difference. My friend, who is also 16, is dating a guy who's 20 and he is amazing to her for the most part. I think up to four years age difference is fine, but I know there are a lot of people who think a two year gap is WAY OVER THE TOP. Anyway, there isn't anything wrong with your age gap.

I think it's ok. It is a tough age, but when you're older, 3 years difference in age is nothing. The problem comes in with dealing with sex. Since he is over 18, he could go to jail if you acused him. So, from his point of view and maybe from his friends, he is playing a dangerous game being with you. But if your parents and his parents are ok with it and you keep sex out of the relationship, I think you're fine.
