Are you close with your mom or dad?

is it really true that boys are close with their moms and girls are close with their dads because I don't find this true at all and what do you guys think.

My parents divorced before I was 3 so I didn't spend a lot of time with my dad and because I was a lot like my dad, in looks and personality, my mom didn't really like me. Now that I'm older my dad and I have been working really hard on developing a good relationship and I'm definitely closer with him. My mom is still my primary attachment figure though.

My brother is closer with my mother and I'm closer with my dad. My half sister I find is pretty equal between her dad and our mom but she is closest with me if that counts as I am like another mother figure to her.

It's not true for me at all. I have a very special and close bond with my mother but a very distant, cold relationship with my father due to circumstances.

While I take care of them, I am not emotionally close to them.
We fight a lot... well, my mother and I fight a lot, my dad is just very distant but we get along better, for the most part.
There's a lot of drama in my family, unfortunately.

I'm not close with my dad at all. I think we were close when I was younger. Once I hit age 11 and puberty got me I've never felt close to him ever since. My mom and I are closer-but not that close.
