Is he saving me for later?

GUYS: If you were 20 and a junior in college, would you avoid dating a girl if you knew something serious was to come of it?

A guy friend of mine (lets call him Todd) at school told me he was not ready for a commitment after I told him I have feelings for him. When I spoke to a different guy friend of mine about it, he said that he is probably not ready for the kind of relationship I am ready for. Todd and I have had the whole what we want our future to be and all that stuff. He knows what he would be in for if he dated me. I am not the kind of person who want to hit it and quit it, I am looking for long term.

My question is; is Todd saving me in his back pocket for when he is ready, or is he just not interested? He never said he just wanted to be friends or wasn't interested. I am at a loss about what to think.

He respects you, and at the moment he probably feels that he wants to have some fun first, like most college boys, but he refuses to have a relationship with you because he respects you and would never betray you. So because he wants to have some fun, he is hoping probably that you can wait until he's ready to settle down, but he must have his fun first, otherwise your end up falling out and he will end up sleeping around, peer pressure from mates and all.
