My best friend is a girl and a few months ago we were drinking at a party having a great time and on our way walking out she just blurts out I wish I had a boyfriend just like you. I was both offended and confused at the same time.

I just don't get it. We hang out almost 4 days at the week we do dinners together, day trips out of town just for fun and just general hanging out.

Over a year ago I said something about us dating and things got weird for a couple of weeks and I never brought it up again. She told me she just wants to be friends bla bla bla. Yet on the other hand we are inseparable.

We keep doing more and more things together and I just don't get it. We both went to each others houses for thanksgiving, We are going to a comedy show on new years. We are going to learn to snowboard together. I just don't get it.

I feel like I have a girlfriend minus any touching/intimacy and I have no idea what to do about this. If I accidentally touch her she always brushes away. I'm okay with her being a great friend, but I've never hung out this much with a girl that wasn't my girlfriend and I just can't figure out if we are both too scared to do something to take the relationship further or that I'm the only one that has deeper feelings than a friend.

I'd say Bite the bullet and find out. Although I've had many guy friends that I did dinners and movies and just random every day things with, they would always get attached and read to much into it. However if you two are mature enough and your friendship is strong enough you two should be able to remain friends. However I must say, in my situations, they time spent with the friend was limited to 2 MAYB 3 days a week. You two do spend an awful lot of time together. If you do date where do you find the time? If she wasn't into you, why would she make the comment she did.

Could the possibility be that when you approached her about dating it was to soon in your relationship? And now maybe she would like to but thinks she blew previously.

Bottom line.. JUST TALK TO HER ABOUT IT!

You're either a boyfriend with none of the benefits or she's realized that you would go good together.

Personally, I'd call her out on that "I wish I had a boyfriend like you". One of two things happens, you find out that she's into you and she's waiting for you to make another pass or you discover that you're everything she wants except just not you.

It's great and all having a female 'buddy'. I am a fan of them. But to be honest, if she's stringing you along as her 'insecurity blanket', how fair is that to you when she abandons you for some other random?

And that WILL happen if she isn't into you.

You are a typical nice guy stuck in the friend zone dude, that's it. If I were in your situation where I hung out with a girl that much that I thought liked me but wouldn't date me then I'd force her to make a move by flirting with other girls. If you can get other girls' attention and she is really into you then she will get jealous and make a move on you, and if she doesn't make any moves then she doesn't like you like that.
