How do you play off getting rejected?

After much thought and self preparation, I am almost ready to ask this guy out. I have accepted the fact that I might get rejected, it won't hurt because I've spent years building up my self esteem and I know that there isn't a single girl out there that floats every guys boat. My concern is that if I do get rejected, how to act immediately afterwards. What would I say so I don't sound like a dork? How do you play it off?

Well lets rewind.Is this guy shy or something? because he should be asking you.

In the event that he is a shy guy I would ask him in a really really casual way. Like "hey we should hang out sometime, I have plans this weekend, but what about next Saturday?"

That way you do not look desperate, then after that date, take it easy. Throw the ball in his court and do not call him or ask him on another date. IF he enjoyed himself he will ask you and pursue YOU. If not, then he does not have the Nads to be with a chick like you right now.

Just say, "Ok, well I just thought I'd throw it out there" or "Ok, well It couldn't hurt to ask right?" and then just start talking about something else that makes you look busy or something.play if off cool and then be sad later when he is away.

i agree with sweet2karina, if you throw comedy in he won't feel bad you know? and it'll help him show that negative feedback doesn't let you down, you'll just keep your head up and keep on progressing :)

"JK. haha I win! you should have seen you face!. Nah I was realy serious!" then bring some thing else up. If you add comedy to it he won't feel so awful about talking to you again because he is going to see that your chill enough to take it.

everyone's answer is right on the money, I would say something like , " Well you just seemed kewl, just thought I ask." then change the subject.
