This answer is more directed at other answerers, but what about the fact that they were playing shot for shot? Perhaps it was accidental that he hit her that hard. I didn't think it was even possible you could put someone in hospital for 4 days just by hitting them in the stomach, I'm really surprised you can have that effect on someone. It could be he didn't visit because he felt guilty and that he didn't have a right to.
Or he's an enormous A hole just like everyone else thinks. Only one way to find out, just ask him. If you ask nicely and he didn't mean it and he's sorry he'll give a really honest and earnest apology, if not then he won't.
Believe it or not I could easily see him thinking "Oh sh*t, I can't believe I did that to her, I can't go talk to her after that"
you played shot for shot, why does he owe you an apology? if you can't handle it then you shouldn't be playing, that would be like me playing shot for shot with my friend, I would be probably be in the hospital too and I would have my own stupidity to blame. personally I would feel bad but I wouldn't apologize since I don't owe you an apology and I wouldn't visit becuase of the guilt I would feel.
