Boyfriend punched me HARD after I lightly slapped him, what to do?

So I've been with my boyfriend for about 2 years, we don't live together yet but have talked about it, pretty great relationship so far.

Anyway, last night I was laying on the bed while he showered and he came in after his shower and was drying himself, and he put one leg up on the corner of the bed to dry his bits, and his balls were hanging and swaying and it was kinda funny and I couldn't help myself so I reached over and gave them a light tap, and he COMPLETELY overreacted and dropped to his knees and said something like "oh you f'ing bitch" and lashed out and punched me in the stomach hard, knocked all the wind out of me and proceeded to lay on the ground holding himself, massive drama queen and told met to get out, once I could stand and breathe again I stormed out and now am waiting for him to contact me and apologise but he hasn't yet, what can I do, can this be saved?

Be we're are supposed to take your word for the fact that you gave them a light "tap".

Testicles are very sensitive. You can't imagine what the pain is like to have them injured. It's a different kind of deep pain that builds and feels like organ damage in your abdomen.

It's really fucked up that you mocked him as a drama queen for rolling on the floor, as if he was faking it.

We're also supposed to believe how hard he punched you in the stomach. Maybe it felt hard because, after all, he's a man and a lot stronger than you. But now you're the one who is acting like a drama queen.

A punch in the stomach is nothing like a punch in the nuts.

You are not as innocent as you make it sound. And you don't get do say that he shouldn't have punched you just because you're a girl.

You need to apologize. Say that you were playing and didn't mean to hurt him. Tell him that you didn't realize how much it would hurt.
Hopefully, he will them say that he is sorry for his automatic reaction and that he's sorry for hurting you.

That's the only way this will be resolved. Because if you are not sincerely sorry for hurting him, he shouldn't be sorry for reacting the way he did.

Jesus... First of all, it's not funny to tap that's the most sensitive part of men and second if he dropped to his knees it means you didn't just lightly tapped him, you most likely smacked him.

Second, even though what you did was really immature and mean but that does NOT mean that it was okay to punch you... What he did was a horrible thing You didn't deserve getting punched. You deserved getting told to get out but what he did is very concerning. If he can lose control so easily in a second, it's a matter of time before he starts beating you up. I'd stay away from him as this sounds really toxic and scary to be with a guy like him and you're too immature to be in a relationship.

Break up or maybe it's already over... But if it isn't over, you better end it soon before you both end up in trouble. This relationship shouldn't be saved.

Did he overreact?
Yes... and most definitely NO.
You don't understand the pain you inflicted.
Furthermore, he trusted you not to do things like that.
What he did was out of an anger reflex. All mammals have something like that - an instinct in which you attack your attacker with such an overwhelming display that the attacker learns never to do that again.

Frankly, I think your relationship is over.
I don't think I would have hit you and certainly not that hard, but I would have made it clear to you to never do that again... and that's if I decided to keep the relationship intact which is something I am not sure that I would do.

Let him cool off for a few days.
He may apologize but he will also draw a line that you are never to do that or anything like that again.
He won't come begging for you so get that out of your mind entirely.

I don't blame him for lashing out, it's a reflex when someone hurts you, you hurt them back. Don't rely on being a woman to save your ass here.

Also, "I couldn't help myself" is not some form of "Get out of jail free card", it's just an excuse people use to try and justify bad behaviour.

I hope you've sent him multiple messages apologising for what you did. I personally don't know if I'd want to be with you after this. There is NO justification for hitting someone unless they hit you first.

It depends on what a light slap on the balls, cause it doesn't take much force to hurt a man hitting him in the nuts.

If you did GENUINELY tap it lightly, then he shouldn't had punched you. That shit would still hurt a little and annoy me, since they're sensitive as hell. Although, due to you being his girlfriend, he should've asked you first or wait for you to say something.
