Here are 10 basic things that most girls wish guys knew about them. This applies to most girls, and it's for a better understanding of how a girl's mind works. So, here goes.

1. Girls Want Guys To Make The First Move

No matter what, usually girls want guys to make the first move. Whether it's texting, calling or something as simple as talking, girls want the guy to do it first. If you're questioning this right now, my theory is this; girls feel nervous and insecure about their feelings for this guy so they dont want to be the first one to do something in case the guy doesn't feel the same about her. So guys, if you like a girl, dont think she doesn't like just because she hasn't made a move yet!

2. Girls Feel Insecure About Themselves

Unless you're some hottie that has a perfect body and perfect figure or some celebrity, usually girls feel insecure about themselves in some way. Whether it's about their body(small boobs, not skinny, too hairy, too short, too tall, etc.)or about their personality(too shy, too awkward, not funny, weird, geek, loner, etc.)there's still something about themselves they dont like it. Maybe its that ugly birthmark they have, or that pimple on their nose, or that weird laugh they have but all these imperfections are natural. That's one other reason why girls like wearing makeup.

3. Girls Care More About Their Appearance Then They Let On

A girl maybe act like she doesn't care what she looks like; but secretly most girls spend a while brushing, flat ironing or curling their hair in the morning, washing their faces, picking out a hot outfit and doing their makeup. They want to look and feel pretty, and want to be their best. Some girls dont care about makeup or picking out something to wear tomorrow-but they still won't leave the house without their hair brushed straight and without taking a shower/washing their face.

4. Girls Like Athletic Guys

Let's make this pretty obvious. No girl likes a dull guy that just sits around all day on Netflix or on the computer. Athletic guys are hot, mostly because they have a great figure, are active and are generally happy/funny. Girls are naturally attracted to sporty types of guys because they are fun and are talented and sexy.

5. Girls Love It When Guys Touch Them

If a guy touches a girl, like a simple pat on the back, high five, light touch on the shoulder, it makes a girl's heart flutter if she's attracted to that guy. When a guy touches a girl, it shows physical contact and wanting to me closer to that girl. And if she likes a guy and he touches her shoulder or gives her a high five, she will most likely remember it and think about it all day and even before she goes to bed(and most likely tell her friends about it !)

6. Girls Tell Their Friends Everything

It doesn't matter what kind of girl she is or how old, but a girl with friends will tell her friends everything. That means if a guy smiled at her in algebra class that day, her friends will know. She will tell her friends if she has a crush on that guy. And her friends will give her the look whenever you're around because they know everything about that guy and how much the girl likes him. They may even tease her about her crush on him, because they think it's cute.

7. Girls Think About That One Special Guy Before Bed

Most girls will remember everything that happened with their crush that day, and think about that one special guy before they go to sleep. They will remember him making her smile and laugh, remember his light touches and flirty replies. And they will smile to theirselves and close their eyes, sometimes dream about him.

8. Girls Like Guys A Lot More Than Others Know

If you're not her bestie or her close friend, you have no idea how much she likes and obsesses over cute guy(s). Her mom will have no clue, her classmate would not believe it if someone told her you thought about guys 24/7. And it's pretty natural when she's a teen and in middle school/high school. She will think over and over about her crush, and about how much she wants to feel special. She will take does he like me quizzes and polls online because she doesn't know what else to do. Sometimes she will like a guy so much that her insides tangle up, her heart pounds in her ears and her cheeks go hot when she sees him. Other times she can't stop smiling and laughing while talking to this adorable guy. Most girls are like this in their teenage years.

9. Girls Like Shopping

No matter what anyone says or what they tell you, girls secretly like shopping. I mean, who doesn't like getting new cool clothes to wear and awesome comfortable trendy shoes for school? Girls love to look hot, and shopping is important if they want to get the best clothes and look pretty. Any girl that's not a tomboy should love shopping(mostly for clothes, makeup, accessories etc.).

10. Girls Like Guys To Give Themselves Away

When a girl has a crush on a guy, she loves it when the guy is obvious that he likes her. Because then she can replace that nauseous nervous feeling in her stomach with the feeling of being special and pretty and confident. So yes, msot girls love it when a guy flirts with her without shame, is not afraid to ask her out, and texts her all the time so she knows she's his bae.

So I hope all the guys that have read this now have a better understanding of how girls think, and that all the girls that read this are saying to themselves, wow this is so true, or I wish all guys knew this! no my take can deliver its claim to shed light on the mass contortion of the world. even takes that claim they are referring to 'most' and not al. well thats very generous but still no. . mean 'most'.. you realize 'most' is billions of people. 1% of the worlds population is nothing close to most but still more people than you'll ever meet or know about.

i think women should watch out for feeling needy or desperate or clingy at the thought of initiating. its interesting you thought the guy should watch out if the women diets but you dont think women should be watching out for themselves and their ability to assert themselves. its vital to be able to be in control of your life. this requires the ability to take control to begin with.

i think women being passive gets justified with ' well its conditioning'.

thats a justification not an explanation. it doesn't matter what 'happened'. by the time you're in a relationship as an adult what matters is what you do. a grown up should feel comfortable initating with their love interest regardless of their sex. i think if a person feels uncomfortable with it it says as much about themselves as that of there view of their partner.

you're not going to feel uncomfortable or annoying for initiating with someone who genuinely wants to talk with you and lets you know it.

i dont think its healthy to get involved with people you feel you need to be passive with in order to be with.

i know you're not advocating it you were just commenting, but i think its worth commenting on your commenting bc it gets swept under the rug far too often as a social norm or what people are used to.

Umm. Almost all of these are untrue for me, and most of my friends.
1, 2, and 3, yea, sure.
4, no. not at all. I like cowboys, and cowboys don't usually have to be all that active. They don't always play sports, they can't run, and usually their bodies aren't exactly all that nice. Other guys can be fun and talented and sexy just as much (and often more) that athletic guys.

I can't help but agree with some of those, but some I don't agree with at all. I do like how you began the take with saying MOST meaning you don't want guys to think this of every single girl they ever encounter. Looking closely, 1 and 5 and 7 apply to me. I have a boyfriend so I'm substituting crush for boyfriend. The others, though, I know are very true for most girls. I have a close friend struggling with a crush (which is why guy friends are so much easier) and I know she's experiencing just about all those feelings and beyond.

I have to agree with the guys here - a lot of this sounds like insecurity and hiding behind your gender about it.

Frankly speaking I don't mind approaching a girl, but to hide your interest towards guys and then complain you don't get approached is your very own fault. I think for your age, this is perfect!

That being said, there are some things that (hopefully) change. Such as, girls not always waiting for guys, not always being into athletic guys (I don't like athletic looking woman and have had no problem with girls liking me) Most importantly, learning to keep things to yourself and within your relationship. Guys usually greatly dislike other people knowing intimate things about their relationship. At your age this is fine to talk about to your girlfriends, but eventually- learn to keep your relationship between the two of you, it makes it stronger and more self reliant.

I think most of this actually applies to both genders, besides perhaps shopping. For me it does anyways. But tbh honest I think "girls care more about their appearance than they let on" should be merged with "girls like athletic/attractive guys" to make "girls care more about looks than they let on or admit."

There's nothing wrong with that but girls always PRETEND to care only about looks and say they will date anyone as long as they are funny, and knows how to treat them. There's exceptions to everything of course, but girls usually claim to care only about personality.

But just a few points though.

1: I think that kinda goes for everyone really, nobody wants to make the first move cause then you have to deal with rejection if dosent go your way, its always nice to be approached.

4: Kinda funny though, but one of things my girlfirend likes about me is that we can just sit quiet together and watch stuff, like netflix :). Although I used to be much more atheltic, but dosent apply to everyone, I find it nice myself that I can just be lazy with someone. Life is pretty demanding as it is.

1 and 10 seem to be more about "we are SO insecure and shy we need either clear signals that 100% let us know you are attracted to us, or for you to make the first move because the fear of rejection is too big for us"... implying guys don't have the same fears? Why would they do it if you would never?

The rest are generally obvious except 5 which is likely to vary between people.

I think that the athletic statement is wrong.
Just because a guy isn't athletic doesn't mean a girl won't be interested in him.

"No girl likes a dull guy that just sits around all day on Netflix or on the computer" - I actually prefer that! Although, you could replace "sits around all day" with a different activity or hobby, it doesn't have to be anything athletic!!
