I feel like guys don't like me because I'm too tall...

I know its not a deciding factor in most guys' minds, but I feel like given their choice, they would always prefer to have a girl that is petite and small and something that they feel they need to protect. Someone whose head fits perfectly under their chin. Who can be held and who can sit on them without awkward gangly limbs everywhere.

I'm 5'10 and feel like maybe my height leads guys to be less attracted to me. I know I'm a pretty and nice girl. I don't have any extra fingers or limbs. I'm healthy and in shape. But I always get this feeling like guys get more emotionally attached to girls who fit the standard girl size (5'2-5'8).

Also, I love the way my legs look in heels, but I'm often afraid to wear them to parties, on dates, etc because I think guys or my date will feel weird that I'm the same height or even taller than them. : (

This sounds silly, I know. But it would make sense from a psychological standpoint. Any thoughts?

Oh come on lol (keep in mind average male height is 5'10) yes I would say most guys idea girl, first thing that comes to mind, would be petite and someone they could throw around like a rag doll lol but you said it yourself in the first sentence; "I know its not a deciding factor in most guys' minds". I mean I am a 5'10 guy, same height as you and I would look at the positive side, at least I wouldn't have to bend over to kiss you ;) I think that guys shorter than you would be intimidated but just go for the taller guys, maybe they will really appreciate your height!

I'm a guy and I'm 5'10" as well. I personally have absolutely no qualms about dating a girl that was as tall or even taller than me. However, I have had many female friends who have been on the tall-ish side who have very strongly stated that they only want to date guys that are taller than them. I can't speak for everyone, but I guess I would be hesitant to pursue a taller than average girl because I would assume that she wasn't interested in me because I wasn't significantly taller than her. I know that's not very encouraging, but I hope that helps. :/

let's cut the politically correct bullshit. it is a factor in most guys minds. maybe not a deal breaking one but it certainly is one. this is not stupid. it's facts. so your feeling is correct. it is unfortunate. but it is what it is. just go for taller men or hope that a smaller one doesn't mind. it helps not to ignore the truth.

I'm a 6ft female and I have been flat out rejected by guys who were shorter and even quite a few who were taller because, and I quote, "you're nice, you're just too tall." So I get it. Personally, I decided that I don't need to date, to me there is no point in even looking. But 5"10 is tall, it isn't too tall.
