My girlfriend is shy around my friends. Why?

I'm 24, my girlfriend is 21. Around me, she's fine. we can talk, laugh, joke with each other. but whenever we're around my friends, whether it be my guy friends or girls, or if I go on a double date, my girlfriend doesn't say much. And if my friends ask her a question to make conversation, it's only one sentence answers. It's like she's shy around my friends. And it makes me awkward and embarrassed that she doesn't talk. how do I get my girlfriend to come out of her shell around my friends?

im the same way, just let her be and let her come out on her own just keep cracking funny jokes and shell eventually join in don't do anything to make her feel insecure or that she's not good enough for u, just act like everything is fine because shy people are kind of insecure and by saying she 'embarrasses you' would make her even more uncomfortable

i was like that with the guy I liked and his friends and he didn't make me seem like an outsider or a weirdo just just kept saying funny jokes and I eventually joined in

Maybe she is nervous and doesn't know how to act around your friends. Your friends are important to you and she wants to make a good impression and just doesn't know how. Or she could just not like them and be acting a snob. Just talk to her about it.

why don't you just ask her. when you first started talking &+ dating her, was she shy? &+ maybe its the type of people you hang out with. Maybe their too weird for her or something. JUST ASK !

maybe she feels liek they're going to be judging her and it puts a lot of pressure on her to make a good impression. So she'd rather leave no impression at all other than leave a bad one and have them dislike her.

hmm maybe she is just shy with new people? or wants to make a good impression on them, but doesn't know how to act.. so she doesn't put herself out there.. I'm not really sure
