Very interesting Take. I do feel like people don't really interact with each other the way they did a few months back. And the amount of answers to people's questions have lowered drastically.
I have to agree. These days the users don't seem to be as socially open.
For me, most of the female users come off as very stand-offish, and the male users don't seem receptive to talking to another guy (probably because they're horny)! :-P

Right. A lot of the time people don't keep the conversations going. When I first joined I could have an ongoing conversation for days. @FierceBrosnan is good with keeping conversation going.
But yeah lol most guys don't seem interested in talking to other guys. And if it ain't about sex, they aren't interested in the girls either!
The damn male perverts ruined it for genuinely friendly guys like me! Yeah I definitely flirt ( #NoApologies here about that ), but I'm not a creep-ass. Some many female users are either paranoid, have terrible social skills or simply don't want to chat.

@CHARismatic110 I do my best lol! And you are right not enough people actually discuss the issues at hand. I see a question about a boyfriend that is being kinda jerky and the comments are filled with " U shud dump his ass what a looser" type crap when they just want their relationship to work. Someone asks a serious question about their religious beliefs and it turns into a shit flinging contest. Then there are the questions that get asked over and over and it's like we seriously need a FAQ for basic human interactions.

@FierceBrosnan right. People just don't care to even try anymore. I made most of the friends I have on here through conversations on questions. Much like how you and I became cool. But that just doesn't happen nearly as much anymore.
That's the biggest downfall of any online community. When people forget that it is a community.

I love this site and the people. What I dislike is some of the Misogynist, racist, xenophobic, sexist questions on here. Like for example all the anti Turk questions. I never understood what all the hate is about. Also the Anti American questions. I understand every country has its problems. No need to hate people because of their gender, sex, race or ethnicity.

I agree with pretty much all of this, especially about posting an opinion without even having to pretend to care about what's already been said about the question. I, mean I' mretty new here but there doesn't appear to be really any discussions really. Someone asks a questions, 2~8 people give one response... and that's it, the question is old now and is replaced by someone asking almost the same question again
It is a shame, because it didn't always use to be this way.
And not only that but a lot of the questions are just mindbogglingly dumb

I agree with some of your points, the site is getting boring, there are not enough opinions and the Xpers we get are negligible. But you didn't mention one big problem that there are too many creeps, sarcastic assholes and offensive cunts on this site these days. In haven't experienced any except one or two but some other GaGers have faced a lot of them.
To be honest, I didn't notice. I thought that was just a private message thing. It always just seems like people who are offended by those they deem as "offensive cunts" are in reality just VERY opinionated people, who don't like having their views challenged.
For example, just look around on this question www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q1503253-why-do-guys-feel-entitled-to-sex or this question www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q1519552-do-you-agree-with-a-woman-s-entitlement-to-breastfeed-in-public-in-a where the QA lashes out at ANYONE who doesn't say the same thing they do. They might claim people are being "sarcastic", but in reality, they just don't know how to maturely handle a discussion.
There could be some genuine opinion owners who get lashed out for no reason, but I've seen many GaGers being sarcastic (which is not even funny most of the times) without any reason. There is guy called YaranZaa or something who has a habit of making unfunny stupid remarks.

I see a lot of people giving low character, unhelpful answers. I saw an answer from a 'Master' the other day reply to a girl asking about depression, his solution was don't get sad...

I agree with this. Once I had typed out a question with a couple paragraphs of details and one answerer said that my question was too long, and that she would have liked to help, but didn't read it. Why even post an answer?
Sadness is a response, aka to eliminate the response, you need to change the input parameters :P
But just "not getting sad" obviously doesn't solve the cause of the problem, which is possibly social and/or general dissatisfaction, feeling unneeded, feeling like you are worthless, etc.
:). That was a point I was trying to get to, both of those answers didn't help solve a problem at all, either it made the poster feel ignored or like their problems weren't significant.
Posting anything gets you points, that's why there are so many useless answers to serious questions by people looking to rank up. I agree there needs to be incentive to give detailed and thoughtful responses.

We should be rewarded for longer responses. Even I'm guilty of one or two sentence answers, what is the point of long answers... they are faded out, no one reads them but OP, and you still get the same point as everyone else.
Hi Mesonfielde I remembe you from my earlier accounts you've been here for a while. I like all your points but I don't see this site as a debate forum I see it as a place where people can ask personal embarrassing questions to each other to help them out in their real lives.

I think it was both a debate forum AND a place to ask embarrassing questions (possibly beyond "girls my penis is 6'7" will it satisfy a horse" or whatever people tend to come up with). You can easily ask questions that would fall into the `family and friends` category that would be somewhat controversial and people would be debating each other day and night, it's just that people generally don't read the opinions of others anymore. No surprise though, they get no reward for it.

Yeah I don't agree with this. The main issue is the creeps, pervs and users harassing others. Not to mention how rude some users are to others.

@HollywoodGlam there always were people who were kinda rude. While antagonistic remarks are typically erased, that's not the key problem. In fact, I think the opinions are a mirror. People don't tend to be rude to me, because I'm not rude to them. I've seen some questions by some very specific people who claim that everyone is out to get them and how all the answers were criticizing her or so, but it's because of how she was telling people to "shut the fuck up". Like, if you're being spiteful, expect people to retaliate.
I think mostly only people who are rude in their questions who actually get rude remarks. That, or people who ask VERY basic things. Like the girl who asked "when do boys get their periods". They don't.
Sadly it is not mainly in private messages. The users can make their settings to not allow private messages so that is an easy fix. I have talked to a lot of users on this site and I just wrote what the common complaint is and why they were going to leave or have left. There are more that I know of that are planning to leave because of this. @HollywoodGlam you are right :)
Take Owner you are thinking about this from your experiences. Watch the girls that post a picture of themselves on here. The amount of attention and harassment they get is ridiculous. If the problems that you described were the only ones encountered on the site some of those users would still be active. It's a bigger issue than people realize.
I think you and I have the same question in mind about the girl user being rude.
I think GAG is really good, making such website is not an easy job.

+ Why are topics like sex, is this girl hot gets most opinions. We should debate about other things too. Just for example I asked something about cutting trees I get just few answers, but if I would ask for something like sex... there'll be bunch of answers.

To be fair, I wouldn't be able to answer you about cutting trees. I sliced off one branch off a tree with a saw once but never really cut trees, and probably most of the people here haven't either. Are you saying we're missing out? :P
I think you bring up a lot of good points. More and more I have also been seeing this as a waste of time.
Objectively, it always is a waste of time, but subjectively, now it doesn't even feel as rewarding anymore. I used to feel like I at least got to converse with others, share my opinion, and people actually somewhat cared. But it doesn't seem that way anymore.

For me the biggest problem is abuse of the block button in opinion comments, where in somebody doesn't agree with your view and lacks the skill to debate like a reasonable person.
I agree, that's annoying, especially the one on "anonymous questions" that allows an entire opinion to be blocked. It's silly.

Just like how there's a problem with rewarding all answers equally with low-effort answers, there'd be a problem with giving +1 XPER for every single opinion comment. Should be bound to character count as well.
