I've seen a lot more "how do I use this app" type questions since we've had an app now for what? About a year? So, If for no other reason, I thought I'd post this so that I can copy/paste the link to the newer users when the shoe fits....

Take Advantage of the FAQ Page:

It's kind of like "reading the directions" in some new gadget that you just bought. No one ever does it. But if you did, things would often go much more smoothly.

There you will actually find ANSWERS to most of the questions that new(er) users ask every day.

Some of the most common ones that come to mind for me:

- How do I send a private message?

Most people figure out fairly quickly that you cannot initiate a private message until you've made it to Level 2. See below for how to receive messages as a Level 1 user. So the next question is....

- How do I earn Xper points to "level" up on G@G?

- Why did G@G delete my question/comment?

Probably because you didn't bother to read the posting rules. Posting nude pics or being a racist, calling people ugly names, etc. etc. can be done somewhere else, not G@G.

For anyone that likes to revert to the "Free Speech" argument. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution does NOT, nor has it ever, protected your "right" to violate the Terms Of Use of a PRIVATELY OWNED website.

Not to mention...why would anyone want to use this FREE website if it was full of nothing but pictures of genitals and people calling each other four letter words, racist slurs, and any number of other offensive things? MILLIONS of websites like that already exist elsewhere.

Update and Personalize Your Account Settings

G@G has some default settings in place for your account that you can, and probably will at some point, want to change. When you click on your own profile, you can edit your personal information. You can also click on "My Settings" and change lots of other things.

This includes the ability for Level 1 users to ALLOW (not send) private messages from other members, without having to "follow" each other.

- Another Common Question is "Can I delete/edit my question"?

There are several practical reasons why posts cannot be edited, but there are certain criteria that can be met where a question may be deleted:

Once you have submitted a question, myTake, opinion, or comment, you cannot edit it. However, you can delete your own questions.

In order to delete a question, it must meet certain criteria:
- No MHO has been selected
- The question is closed

If you have a serious issue that a moderator cannot assist you with, contact the admins.

If you have a post that needs to be edited/deleted for some reason such as personal privacy, or you did something when you set your account up like entered the wrong birth year, just reach out directly to the admin staff.

G@G is a Website, as well as an APP.

Over the last few months, I've noticed that many new users do not realize that G@G started out as a normal desk top "community" website, added a mobile friendly site, and most recently, smart phone apps for both Android and iOS.

Personally, I use the mobile site about 80% of the time. But that's just my personal preference. The point is, you can access G@G from any Internet browser, with pretty much any device.
