How to tell when "ghetto guys" like you? What is this? Is it all in my head?

There's a black guy at my school and he is part of the group that likes to act ghetto even though they were raised in the suburbs lol.
I am a small white girl and my hair is curly and almost looks like biracial hair sometimes :p (when I was very young I had a white girl afro haaaa)
SO he was in my calss last year and we always made eye contact.
I had to be in a group with him and he was pretty quiet so I don't think he's interested
However this year every time I see him he stares at me and we have this weird moment.
Maybe it's all in my head? But he saw me at a game and did a double take and checked me out and he got quiet and weird. And his friend turned to look at me because he was checking to see what the heck he was looking at..
I seem to attract black guys because (I guess) I kinda have a booty and thick thighs.
But what is this thing where he always notices and stares at me with no expression?

ALSO: I kinda was attracted to him. He is also kinda myseterious and I die for that type of guy but I never let those feelings grow because he only really hangs with black girls and stuff. I assumed he only dated and liked black girls.

Im a light skin hispanic and even i find it a bit frightful to approach white women largely due to preconceived notions that they might have about me. If there's one thing any minority male in this country doesn't want to be.. its a colored man that white women consider creepy. He most likely likes you but might be afraid to approach because he might think that you already have a certain perception about him... and he's right.. You do. If ur willing to have the courage.. You could always just say hi next time and see how he responds. Seems a bit shy to me... plus all the stupid crap that comes with racial social relations.

I'm actually hispanic but I'm very light and have some freckles and other features that make me look white so it's easier to put white sometimes lol.
It seems like it's just a "tough guy" shell and he is actually a shy guy though.
I've had a thing with a black guy like that before and he was really sweet before he turned into a dick.

Ghetto guys are not different from other guys. If they see someone they like they will pursue them. I live in the hood low income but when I go to the suburbs men who are not ghetto they still pursue me. All men have different personalities so if that is what you are talking about then you never know

Its all part of his "ghetto, hoodrst" act"t. He's trying to show you how "tough" and "cool" he is by blatantly staring you at with no expression, as if to say he doesn't care you see him staring.

The fact that they TRY to act like hoodlums tells me he's pretty shallow. He has no true self confidence or identity so he has to put up a "tough guy" act with his friends. If you like those kinds of guys, go for it, otherwise don't waste your time.

I'm going to have to disagree with the whole "power trip" thing. What could he gain from checking you out, and making you feel awkward? He probably doesn't even know that you feel that way. You say that he get quiet and awkward around you, yet puts on an act as if he was from the hood or whatever.

That right there tells you that he has some feelings for you, but he's just trying to cover it up. He's already pretending to be something he's not, so in my eye's the real him comes out when he's around you, if you know what I mean.

I'm not trying to say that your answer is wrong @MothMonsterMan I just think that he has a different motive other than ganing a personal power trip from the whole situation.

Well if he's shallow enough to try to get attention by acting like a "thug", he is certainly shallow enough to get a power trip from staring at you and making you feel uncomfortable from it. As far as what to gain? By making you uncomfortable its "proof" to him how "tough" he is.

As I said, if you like that kind of act go for it. But guys like him a dime a dozen, don't be surprised when he treats you like snit.
