My crush suddenly starts hanging out with my brother?

Me and my crush are both 15 and my brother is almost 17. I've liked him for a while now and I think he feels the same. All of the sudden, meh started hanging out with my brother and his friends, they go to the movies and hang out at lunch. He's in my class and I just think its weird.
Am I thinking too much into this?
I'm not gonna go girl crazy and forbid them from hanging out or anything, but I can't help thinking that maybe he is trying to get closer to me.
Am I being at all realistic? Or am I just helplessly hoping?

its not a bad sign! but it doesn't for sure mean he likes you. when guys like you they will try to get closer to you and i guess he sees your brother as a way to do that. when guys like girls they also have "habits" like if you put up your lunch tray at 12:35 he would know that and do it too to see you. so yes, your not just helplessly hoping, its a really good sign.

Maybe they just ended up being good buddies which is common. Or he does like you and is trying to be more connected by making acquaintances with one of your family members.
