Odds are, the people he is "chatting with" are not "chatting." They are relaying game-specific information. It is all apart of the same experience. The male brain, legendary for its bad multitasking abilities, includes this chat overhead as game information and it melds into the experience. An article I read once said a male brain is like a hatchet and a female brain is like a swiss-army knife. He isn't thinking globally but at a very high level of precision against a single protracted struggle. The game, the communication from the people talking, etc.. are all apart of the same "problem" he is tring to "solve."
An unrelated outside question or comment is going to be filtered out as noise like an ambulence driving by far away in the city or birds chirping outside somewhere.
Its not about you, or what you had to say or your desires and needs. Although if he dies because of it, it could be courting an unsolicited reaction. :)

What, do you think people who are busy listening to music or are busy reading a book like to be constantly bugged to stop? What they are doing takes focus. You're taking away focus. He talks to them on live chat because it is relevant to the activity he is then currently doing.
Because they are focused... I do the same thing when I'm playing videogames... it annoys everyone but I'm trying to beat a game, and pausing it is not an answer.
The same reason I ignore people when I'm reading a book. I'm engrossed in them and get pretty annoyed if someone keeps talking.
If i am playing video games, I wouldn't want anyone to disturb me and naturally iwould ignore people.

I used to have this problem. I used to rank up in the upper tiers in a game so I had to put my utmost attention into keeping it there. I couldn't pause, and if I did everyone would unpause and be like "gtfo noob you don't have a life don't lie" so ja.. in a competitive scene, I could see why it's easy to ignore others lol.
For a guy it's impossible to play a video game while talking to your friends and talking to your girlfriend all at the same time.
Its about focus darling, one millisecond could be the difference between life and a higher kill/death ratio. If you want to "chat" with your bf, take his headset, and talk to the people he is talking to, while HE plays. I think thats hot, he might think the same. Its better than trying to interrupt the game anyway...
We gotta focus and what not and when he's talking to his friends it's prob about the game they are playing.

When we are gaming if you are not in our squad talking on a mic or one of the people in game, we probably are not going to talk to you because we are concentrating lol. All gamers are like that unless we are able to pause our games.

Because he is completely focused on the playing the game, you talking every five minutes it just a distraction to him.
Talking to your boyfriend when he's playing a game, is like him talking to you when you're shopping. If you're not going to get involved, don't do it
Its serious like if I'm playing NBA 2k15 she's not getting a response till my game is over
