What does it mean if an ex brings up old memories/jokes?

Me and my ex were together for 3 years and he brokeup with me almost 6 months ago due to distance. We've recently got back into contact about a month ago after 2 months of not talking. He first contacted me out of the blue trying to seem friendly and interested in what I've been up to. He even brought up old memories/jokes we used to share like "Remember when..." and "Speaking of... that reminds me of..." we only talk at least once or twice a week as of right now. But im not sure if he's just trying to get us on good terms or maybe there's something more?

I recantly had this experience with an ex of mine. She had broken up with her new guy caus he cheated. We were talkin she complained he didn't love her caus he only called her babe she then went on to reminisce about our pet names (I called her my sexy little fuck bunny she called me the bunny fucker) tho very inappropriate were imaginative an cute. Any how long story short I took a shot an got rejected within a week she was back with the cheater. Grrr dont the opposite sex confuse the crap out of ya sometimes.

Probably he misses you. If you guys ended in well terms, it is normal for him to miss you. Or he felt like having that kind of conversation, you know, remembering what you used to do. Maybe he's hinting you that he misses those moments.

We actually didn't really end in well terms... it was pretty dramatic so im surprised he would even want to talk to me still.
