I'm sure there's a way you change him, but if he doesn't want to change, he's not going to want to be with someone who's changing him.
What he really needs is someone to bring him down a few notches on the confidence scale. Then when he goes to rebuild it, he probably won't be a player. Unless you can find a way to scare the f***ing sh*t out of him and have his whole player mentality blow up in his face, it's unlikely you're going change anything.
Oh, and you obviously know that no amount of love will change a player mentality. He won't love you to the point where he's willing to give up his ways to be with you. No one wants a compromise and even if he did do that, he'd secretly hate you for it and the whole relationship would eventually, very nastily fall apart.
Take it from sexycupid. You can't change him. You will be cast out like every girl before you, because probably every girl before you thought the same thing (as will likely be the case with many girls to come).
Is it possible for a player to settle? Yes. Can you make him? No. He has to make the choice to settle by himself. Until he is ready to do so, your best bet is to avoid getting suckered into sex.
Oh honey I have been in your shoes before and trust me I too also thought I could change my boyfriend from being known as the player to a serious gentleman little did I realize that no matter how much I would try and talk to him nothing about him change. It seriously has to come out of his own self to change who he is.
