I am just like you though .. I am new in my society (which I totally despise ) .. I don't like the people , they are fake and immature .. I never fit it , I tried to involve in some groups and I failed ..their jokes are lame to me .. and I just don't fit with anyone .. But , I do have a boyfriend (who is very popular ) but is totally fine with the way I am .. he doesn't consider me weird or bad .. he thinks I'm special :D .. so don't worry ,not one bit ! Only materialistic, immature girls will take this fact in consideration imo
Well, you seem to be degrading yourself with your own opinion. You should say that you're unique, that you're not affected by peer pressure, that you have your own sets of values. Don't worry, nobody's "normal" because everyone has their own definition of what is "normal". I like hanging out with people who knows what they want, and don't get influenced by others easily. As for Facebook, everyone self promotes themselves in this virtual world, nobody will post a picture of themselves crying, you get what I mean? Just be strong and be patient, you'll meet new people as long as you live :)

am I saying a guy has to be popular or in the in crowd? no. but he should still have some friends, even if its just 1 or 2. I can't imagine a guy like that being attractive.

Being a loner is different than being unpopular. A loner is someone who prefers to spend time by himself. Unpopular is is someone who is just unpopular with other people. It is possible to be both; I for example am a loner, but I am quite popular (not bragging here). Clint Eastwood almost all his movies is the archetype of a popular loner. He prefers to be on his own, but everyone knows who he is, hence popular loner. Women like anything that conveys status. Here's how I see it: Being a loner and popular is a +1, being unpopular and unhappy about it -1.
I talked to a girl I liked recently - and she said she can't stand popular guys , because they are often popular for the wrong reasons and players...
