It seems to be okay to some that second hand marijuana smoke is okay and would not affect anyone around them. The belief is it isn't as bad as cigarettes. I disagree. You can definitely pick up a contact buzz from inhaling marijuana that someone else is toking. Being around cigarette smoke definitely makes some people sick, so that is a contact buzz from it as well.
There has been studies now to the affect and it is disturbing. Exposure is similar to cigarettes.

It is also possible you could fail a drug test from breathing second hand marijuana smoke.

These are not the only reports on the dangers of second hand marijuana smoke.
I'm not saying you shouldn't be allowed to smoke, and that is not what the post is about. This is about second hand smoke affecting those around you who have chosen not to smoke. They shouldn't have to breathe it if they have chosen not to smoke.

If I had a choice of breathing secondhand pot smoke or second hand tobacco smoke, I'd pick tobacco smoke. If it's just a whiff, I wouldn't care about either one. But if it's in a closed room where I was actually breathing it, I'd pick tobacco any day.
Or maybe to put it another way, If I was in a room where people were smoking a lot of cigarettes, I'd stay. If I was in a room where people were smoking a lot of pot, I'd walk out and get some fresh air. I do NOT want to be in the same room as people smoking pot. If it was outdoors I wouldn't care, but not inside.
