Is it bad that every time I work my abs it makes me want to throw up?

Okay, I know that I need to work my abs more but ever time I do, I want to throw up. I've almost done it recently and probably would've if i hadn't stopped. I told my friend about it and she said that I shouldn't do any ab workout because of this. I don't know why I get this but I would like to know if I should stop or not.

Side note: I'm trying to get into shape for snowboarding season. That kinda why I keep doing it.
