Well, almost all the times I start a conversation with someone outside Brazil, 2 things can happen:
1º: They start to talk about things like football, carnival, samba, beaches and the Amazon Forest.
2º: They start to speak Spanish with me.
Well, this may be shocking for some people, but there is: Brazil is not an giant jungle where everyone lives dacing samba while playing football at same time (and full of slums)! This exotic view that the mainstream media created of Brazil certainly did a mess with it.
And although we are surrounded by hispanic countries, we are not hispanic. We speak portuguese, which is a language very similar to castillian, but it also have considerable differences, especially in the pronounce. Also, our culture is very different, going to a portuguese-italian thing (and german or African in certain states). Yes, we are "latins", but "latins" isn't synonymous of hispanic (and much less a race, as many people think). Anyway, I think we have a good relationship with our hispanic neighbors <3
Oh, and not all Brazilians are tanned and beautiful, as I saw some people commenting. But if it were true, it would be great lol

i've been stereotyped for being an American in both positive and negative ways
some examples of stereotypes:
- i'm rich
- i hate the third world
- think america is better than the rest of the world
- i'm a rapper (because i'm black and from america)
Here's an interesting perspective for you. I'm Australian, living in Australia, living in a Middle Eastern area.
The area I live in is like the heart of it all. I'm married to a Lebanese guy. He and his family are normal. But they have friends who spent most of their lives in the Middle East. I'm not scarfed and neither are the other women in his family aside from his mother but at gatherings, people stare at me. I don't know what it is. I don't know what they're thinking. But they just STARE. Do they think I'm some Western harpy? I don't know. There's one cousin of my husband's that I can't stand. She constantly drops slightly racial jokes about me being Australian. Example, she showed me a picture of her in niquab on her phone. Niquab is the viel that only shows the eyes. She asked me if it scared me in the most sarcastic voice. I told her no, and I showed her a picture of me in a bikini and asked her if it scared her.
Im Australian and live on a cattle farm.
A friend from Spain asked if we ride kangaroos and see lots of them, this was very funny. She also said how scary the snakes and spiders must be, but really even out here on a farm, you don't see them that much. Then quite a few people from city and towns seem to assume that I would wear cow girl like cloths. one that came out put a blade of grass in their mouth, i said just because we live on a farm doesn't mean we act like in the movies, oh and enjoying the cow shit? Another i told we lived an hour from town, they asked how did we get food and if we ate grubs. aaaah😂. And theses are eighteen yr olds, not kids, and besides the one from Spain they also live in the same country. Its just sad how naive people are.
I've been stereotyped but nothing bad amongst people outside England just the typical British stereotypes.
-fish & chips
-posh British accent (cmon what about us northerners :( )
-"have you met the queen?"
-"so you drink tea a lot then?"
-ARG red double decker bus and red telephone boxes
-hogwarts and private boarding schools
-british breakfast fry up
-drinking cheap beer in a pub
-FOOTBALL (mostly true)
-cheerio chap
not saying some of these are pretty true!! but within the uk, where I live we tend to have a negative stereotype amongst others as a lower class society and thieves etc which obviously isn't true.
I'm Asian but I most definitely do not fall under the Asian stereotype. Some things people have asked me in the past:
-are you in honors math?
-how will your parents react when you show them your grade?
-wow, you must not know how to drive
In fact, some don't even consider me Asian because of the way I act. Do I always get the best grades? no. Am I good at sports? hell yeah. Am I known to not be so called "popular"? Well to be honest, I am very well known in my school. I hate these Asian stereotypes so much.

I'm from India, and I've been stereotyped to be
1. From a conservative family
2. Creepy af on internet
3. Shy towards girls
4. Religious af
5. Hindu guy😂😂
6. F**ked up sense of humour
7. Horny guy who thinks all foreigners are moral less and have no culture
No good stereotypes I guess, and maybe India deserves it, so I'm not complaining..😢😢😢
But I'm sure as heck that 2,4,5 and 7don't fit for me..
There was this once when a girl msged me here, I asked where she was from and she said her country, when I replied India that was the end of the conversation... *silently cries*Asian male stereotypes:
-Never been on a date, can't talk to girls
-Awkward and shy
-Can't lead
-Small dick
-Ugly
Me=
-I have no trouble dating, thank you. I socialize enough, I have enough to offer, somebody will appreciate it.
- True when I was younger, but I grew up and grew a pair
- I'm the lead scientist for my laboratory as well as a graduate student instructor. Plus, if we couldn't lead, Asia would have collapsed ages ago.
- Mine's not huge, but not needle sized like Hollywood tells you. Plus, none of my dates every complain.
- Ha. Got me here, I'm pretty ugly haha.
But hey, 4 for 5 are untrue. Fuck you stereotypes. We might be going through it right now. I'm in the US and to let everyone know up front, I'm not participating in no political debate. I did not vote for our current sitting president. I've noticed a subtle change in my good friends, many of whom are of color and females. Some are from Mexico & have legally been in this country for 40+ years, have good union jobs & have good family values. But now they view this country and to be quite honest, myself differently. We all agree that illegal aliens is a problem & has to be addressed, but a wall? REALLY? My friends have long ago since apologized to me and I do feel their frustrations.
Yeah, white straight American males are stereotyped as racist, sexist, homophobic redneck fat hillbilly's.
I've always treated people as people regardless of what you were born as, im not particularly fat, but not skinny, and my name isn't billy and i don't live on a hill! more of a slight incline. Everyone is stereotyped for something, not all stereotypes are bad though. White people can't jump? yeah i know i can't, its true.American- foreigners have told me
-dumb Californian bimbo
-fat
-stupid
-mean
-fake
-jealous of us (Europeans) which I can promise you I'm not whatsoever 💁🏻.
-white people are evil racist Devils because of the media
-talk the wrong English.
-whore, men tend to be blunt and ask do I fuck around just because of my nationality.
It's sad asf that people actually believes these.Too many times to count. I'm a second generation American so I get stereotyped whichever country I'm in (whether it's the U. S. or the country of my descent). Whenever I visit Eastern Europe, people think I'm some rich stuck-up bitch lol. Whenever I'm in America, people think my ancestors were coldblooded killers.
I'm a Kenyan and people (foreigners) used to always think that Africa in general is a very poor continent, we'll I don't blame them coz they didn't/don't have their facts right. When former POTUS took office and his background (roots) were checked, at least there was a new perspective about Kenya in particular, at least better and brighter images were on display e. g. The beautiful white sand beaches, Amazing wildlife-home of the Big 5, Diverse culture, Kind hearted and loving people, just to mention a few. To sum it all up, I think people should try to get their facts and thoughts right about anything before they go yapping around about everything they think they know! 😊 Times have changed.

I have been stereotyped and it was disappointing.
People expected me to have a certain accent, which I don't.
They expected me to know how to dance a certain kind of music. They also thought I liked a certain type of music.
They seemed shocked and sad when they learned I wasn't like that Lol I love sterotypes they are so funny. Whoa look at the time I better get on my polar bear and ride back to my igloo to drink some maple syrup
My situation is complicated, I am from Botswana, Africa but my parents are from India and I get asked all the time "how did you get to Africa" because people find it hard to believe an Indian (race) can be from Africa.
But the stereotype that I hate the most is the "hindu vegetarian" stereotype, white people think all Indians are hindu and vegetarian and I am neither of those things, I come from a Christian backgroundlol the thing about Latvia is that you can't stereotype it if you don't even know that it exists.
Here's a Latvia ball. It depicts the stereotype that Latvians are obsessed with potatoes, which may or may not be true.
upload.wikimedia.org/.../...iaball_with_riches.pngFor being black (automatically from Africa), I have had the accent imitation and the sentence "want some bananas" too many times.
I don't even bother now. It's like tall people being asked how is the weather up there.
As for the positive stereotype they always assume i have a big d*ck. Well can't say it's not true ;)As a Canadian living in the UK, I was routinely mistaken for American (and often the target of anti-American comments). Once they knew I was Canadian, the usual ignorant comments about snow, bacon, watery beer and being 'American wannabes' came out.
Not really... I'm Australian so all we really get is Crocodile Dundee and Steve Irwin
once worked with a Romanian girl who said that all Scottish women were sluts and that European women were more loyal, cleaner and better (not as slutty). She completely missed the fact that Scotland is part of Europe. And if she meant mainland European women, then, she also missed the fact that most of European porn comes from Poland/Czechia/Germany and Amsterdam has a legal prostitution in the Red Light District.
I'm Cuban American. Recently, I went to Las Vegas and some guy started talking to me, I ignored him because he was saying a lot of lewd things. (Like about my body) then he said something I couldn't ignore. He asked if I spoke English. I turned and said "obviously". Then he asked if I was from Mexico. I've never even been to Mexico. I've lived in Portland my entire life!
Someone stereotyped me by asking if I drink a lot of tea.
I do.
Vote for President CT_CD
www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q2494228-who-are-you-voting-forDoesn't it grind your gears and you have a person from a different country bragging about how great their country is compared to yours? It's like, why didn't you stay over there then?
When I go to other countries. People see the Canadian flag and make assumptions about me saying "eh" all the time or me drinking maple syrup every walking moment of my life.
😂😂 it's pretty awesome though. My most favorite is when they think we say "sorry" for everything.American from the Western state of Utah, so I get this lovely plethora of stereotypes combined (My five favorite)
1- Fat (american)-True as of now, can change.
2- Listens to Country Music (western states)- God no, I prefer rock
3- Mormon (Utah)- Ex Mormon here so half credit
4- Polygamy wife (Utah)- hahaha you're so funny, we all know I
would destroy a guy for that.
5- Nationalist/ Pro American only/No knowledge of foreign cultures (America)- Although I love my country I see we have issues. Like the still fucked up treatment of our original residents (Native American tribes). I'm trying to get more involved with cultural events to learn about places other then this (I still have some residual stereotyping I work on).
