Do any of you notice when a person is skinny-fat in public when they are not wearing swim-wear?

I'm skinny-fat and I wonder if people are able to notice if I have an odd body shape.

Yeah. Especially guys because I like to size them up to see whether or not I could take them in a fight. Not sure why, because it's 2011 and all, but you never know.

It's noticeable. Skinny fat usually means you have poor muscle tone, and that's noticeable in your forearms.

skinny-fat is basically a more insulting/blunt way of describing someone who, even though they're thin or normal weight, they're still very much out of shape due to lack of muscle in their bodies.

"skinny fat" listen, none of this PC 'i-don't-want-to-offend-anyone' crap; you're either obese, fat, normal, skinny or muscular.

Generally, with clothes on, not much can be told about the body shape, if you want to look good with clothes on work on the chest, shoulders, arms and some upper back. Without clothes its everything (former + core, legs) an most importantly burn fat by doing at least 20 min of cardio daily (this activates fat afterburners)

Its possible to be skinny and fat at the same time if you have bad jeans. In other words there is a grey area. Not only can you be either skinny or fat you can also be skinny-fat:

I think what you're referring to is a high water saturation content in your body. Puffy nipples, isolated packets of fat and the like?

In which case, one thing you can do is reduce the sodium content in your diet (sodium increases the water saturation of your muscles) another thing you can do is start running/jogging for at least 20 min a day to activate your fat afterburners

Oh and genes don't restrict you. They just make things slightly easier for some people. There is no 'fat gene'

I have quite large areolas,thinning hair and I'm able to put my middle finger around my wrist and have it touch my thumb easily (which most people can't do). My ankles are thin and there's a lot of fat on my upper leg.

Skinny people with flab... They're thin but have no muscle tone and when they take their top off you say sagging breasts etc (on guys).

its when someone is a normal weight (not overweight) but because they have little to no muscle tone whatsoever, they still have a high bodyfat percentage and are just as unhealthy/out of shape as someone who is overweight. generally the only telltale sign of a skinny-fat when they're fully clothed is the forearms.
