Finally asking for a little help when working out?

Okay I have been going to the gym for a few months. I have slowed down due to frustration. One thing I do every time is go on the treadmill for at least 15-30 mins, or try and play basketball. After that I would lift weights, but more or less do the same exercises. I have no idea of what exercises to do to be well rounded and how to execute these exercises. Can't really afford a gym trainer, hence I am asking on here. Maybe someone can lead me to a good site with a nice workout guide and explanations on how to do the exercises for a complete noob (oh boy I feel like an idiot all this time wasted at the gym for no reason, I still look the same as when I started maybe about 10 lbs lighter. Yet it seems like its coming back).

P.S. When I don't go I will do about 2 sets of push ups, the first set I can do about 25 then the second set about 15. I have been getting that second set I have getting it up though.
