Girls, what's the best way a guy can close the pores on his face?

I'm asking girls cause you know more about facial care than a guy probably would. Right now I use Cetaphil daily facial cleanser to keep my face clean but that dries it out so I use moisturizer afterward to prevent it from drying out. This cleanser doesn't do anything as far as closing my pores it just keeps my face clean. So what can I do in addition to using the facial cleanser to close my pores?

You can't really close down your pores but you can keep them clean so they look smaller or temporarily shrink them.

As I said, keeping your pores clean from oil or other dirt will actually make them appear a lot smaller and the only way to achieve that is through a good skincare regime. That should consist of exfoliating with baking soda unless your skin is sensitive in which case a normal store bough exfoliator will work just fine. You can also use products such as this: link There are also chemicals exfoliants as AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) and BHA (beta hydroxy acid) if your pores prove to be really stubborn but I don't recommend you rush out and buy products with those ingredients just yet. Same for microdermabrasion, laser treatments and other such expensive cosmetic procedures... they definitely work well but they are so pricey you should only consider them if all else fails.

Don't forget about your diet, it affects the way your skin looks a great deal. Make sure you are getting enough vitamin A and C as well as protein and antioxidants.

The final tip I can think of is to remember to change your pillow case often, about once a week, because that is an important source for all sorts of debris that clogs up your pores.

ok well if you really want to know :o) using soap and water is just as fine as using a cleanser. and any old face cloth will do when washing your face and getting rid of all the grime. I don't think we realize all the dust and dirt everywhere that collects on our skin. especially our face considering its exposed to the elements most of the time. and the best thing to use for your skin is a toner after you wash your face. use a cotton pad if you can because it seems to hold the moisture from the toner on it and helps wash away impurities and keeps the skin soft and clean. I hope this doesn't sound dorkee but I swear on it to keep my skin clear and moisturized. I hope this helps.

So do most toners moisturize the face also or can I just use a moisturizer after applying the toner? I always have to use a moisturizer after shaving otherwise my face dries out way too much.

yes it does help if you use a moisturizer after because it protects the skin from all the dust & dirt. basically using a toner helps clean the skin and keep it moisturized. its a really good way to keep your face clean from all the pollution & putting a cream/moisturizer on after keeps the moisture in while keeping all the dust & dirt out. amazingly not a lot of people know that or know how important our skin really is... its a living organism after all and needs nourishment too.

I sound gay here but oh well.

After I use something to clear spots up I use hydrocortisone to heal, moisturize, and take the redness away. Works every time.

i heard about pore minimizing toner never tried it though and I would never recommend a toner because you seem to have dry type of skin unless the toner is without alcohol.. I suggest only cold water that alone can close your pores.. ^-^
