That first love will always be something that you remember but you will get over her and fall in love agin in time . . . EVeryone goes through this stage and everyone gets though it at different periods of time
i broke up with mine because he cheated but we're still friends. we still occasionally hook up, but now I feel like I just want to get over him and forget him except it hurts him too badly to not have me in his life. I don't know what to do..
well...i'm in love with him but he don't I truly love him and its been a year and the love just get stronger everyday...maybe cause he is with me in school
It's different for different people. I was with my first love for about the same time, and it took about a year to get over. You'll always have some feelings for her, but the pain does go away. The only definitve way to move on is to find someone new. Not just anyone, but someone you can fall in love with. It may be a good thing to not talk to her right now, but you might regret it if you push her away for good.
Nah man you just suffer from one-itis.Where you obsess over one girl. The best cure is to get out there and date a dozen girls and then you'll notice that your ex wasn't so special after all.
Think at it as if you were two souls on different paths, which crossed, but were on separate paths none-the-less. You can only wish her the best as she makes her way down her path.
not at all. you will fall in love again someday and you'll be so in love the past just won't matter...just be careful not to date someone who will be such a toxic burden in your life like this ex...

I was with my first love for 4 years and it only took me 5 days to get over it. It could be because I'm on Zoloft and Xanax. So my sad feelings have disappeared.

I'm still friends with him. Tomorrow we're getting breakfast and then I'm going to his house to pick up some more of my things. He asked me it it was going to be awkward if we went to breakfast and I said it's not going to be.

How long?
You will think about remember her many years/decades?) but it will not stay acute nor painful that long.
Your next love will push the pain away, guaranteed (if you get emotionnally involved)
not forever, but a really really long time. It took me year to completely get over my first love although I was dating others during that time.
It passes, IF you allow it to pass.
10 months is a bit too long for rebound. Get back out there. Dating new people is seriously healing.
you won't have that pain forever. but you will always rememebre your first love.
2 years for a 4/5 month relationship, it fades but never goes away I'm afraid.

time. thats all it takes. no time limit, when the new one fills you with happy memories, then you know that you are over her
I needed 1,5 years to get over "my first love", so yes, it takes a while. I'm very sorry for you, I know exactly how you feel! :)
time heals all wounds. it took me a couple years but get out, keep busy, and keep trying to date. that's the best way to get over it.
