My stepbrother's friend walked in on me completely naked and then asked me to keep quiet about it. Do you think that's a bad idea?

I'm 16 years old and on the weekdays I stay at my stepbrother's house because it's about 30 minutes closer to my school. My stepbrother and I get along great I have my own little room and bathroom at his house. Thursday night he had a friend over and they were drinking and playing pool in the garage. I had just gotten out of the shower and walked from the bathroom down the hall to my room in my towel. I closed my door but the door handle is broken on it so it does not lock or latch I just push it closed. Not really paying attention to what they were doing I took my towel off stood in front of my mirror and start a blow drying my hair. Evidently my stepbrother's friend walked inside the house to get another drink and for some reason walked into my bedroom where I was standing there completely naked. I did not see or hear him right away because there was hair all in my face and the blow dryer was on. I don't know how long he was standing there but when I looked up in the mirror I saw him standing in the door looking at me and he was obviously drunk.

The mirror is really tall and he was able to see my whole front in the mirror and my butt. I turn my blow dryer off and grab my bra placed it over the top of my boobs and put my hand over my vagina. I asked him what he was doing and he said sorry I walked into the wrong room and asked me like five times not to say anything to my stepbrother. He was trying to talk to me for like two or three minutes apologizing while I'm covering myself up and I didn't realize I was still standing in front of the mirror and he could still see my butt. I haven't said anything to him yet but this guy is like 25 years old and he saw me, a 16-year-old girl butt naked.

I don't really want to cause any problems but do you think it's a good idea to tell my stepbrother or do you think it was an honest accident and he was just drunk?

Put aside the remote idea that a drunken 25-year-old did not know you would be naked in the room. He asked you to keep quiet about it because he knew you were there. Tell your stepbrother about this incident. Do not let it go for if you do these little "mistakes" might continue, at first maybe in a playful way, but then escalate to playful aggression and beyond.

If telling your stepbrother does not put an end to this behavior, you will then have to avoid going to his place. Never again speak to the creep. At the very least he is a socially awkward klutz who deserves your suspicion. If he liked you "that way," he was not smooth enough to be discreetly charming to allow you room to reject him.

Not to alarm you: Since you are now 16 and attractive, it would be wise for you to buy a mace gun or other protective device and have it nearby at all times. Know how and when to use it, but don't get paranoid nor over confident with it. You are aiming for an objective of controlling your safety in your environment.

I saw someone post an opinion to the effect that he's a perv. I'm 30 now and when I was 25 the last thing on my mind was 16yr olds. This guy was peeping at you naked while you didn't notice. Side note: In the majority of the world 16 years old is legal.

Anyway, I think being drunk was part of it, of course it could also just be an excuse oh yeah I walked in on you naked because I'm drunk, haha. It sounds to me like he liked what he saw but couldn't come to words to say it. I would only tell your brother if you are concerned something like this could happen again, it would definitely cause a very awkward and uneasy environment, it would probably cause him to feel obligated to take sides, you or his friend, I just feel that wouldn't help anything.

When I read stories like this I honestly don't know if they're real or made up. But in case you're telling the truth, I'd tell your step-brother about it at the very least. There was no reason for this guy to come into your room unannounced, let alone stand there watching you until you realized he was looking at you. If it was an honest accident he would have closed the door quickly and you would probably have never realized he had saw you. Sounds like a total perv to me.
