I honestly love being single. I am an introvert, and shy. It sometimes takes a lot of effort and energy to engage others. But I still do my best with my upkeep (ie I work out, eat healthy, have great hygiene and oral hygiene, enjoy hobbies/am generally happy).
Sometimes I think I would like to get married or have a partner for life, other times I would rather not. I do not sleep around and do not need sex to be happy (granted if I found a guy that loves me, I would love to be with him and do that).
I don't have any pets, and while I like dogs, I probably will never get one. I haven't really been the type to seek out companionship. I'm friendly and polite to anyone that talks to me, but I don't exactly let a lot of people "in" or get close to me.
Single men do
When i started dating my now husband hed be all about gym and good clothes. Now he barely works out no more and doesn't care about it
I feel like many people feel like women let go of themselves even though i think women actually work on themselves when in relationship. Out of respect for their partner and self respect. At least i do
I've been single all my life and also I've lived independently for 3 years now and I can say that I fully can take care of myself. Just give me 5 cats and I will be fine for the rest of my life. Maybe if I had had relationships in the past I would crave them, but since all I know is how to be single, I'm all good.
I think Men are happier single. Woman are more social then men - especially in old age. Female seniors are always hanging out with their retired friends while retired males are often left to their own devices.
Both take "care" of themselves , the difference is how loooooooow someone is gonna let him/herself sink when they are going solo.
I say probably women but then again I'm talking out of my ass here cos all I know is , as a single guy... my place is pretty messy.
No-brainer. Single women do. Women celebrate being single. Guys don't.
Just look at suicide rates, lifestyle diseases, addiction, homelessness.

Most men if given this situation would probably commit suicide the next day or drink themselves silly. There's not too many guys that would happily forsake companionship at all.
Meanwhile girls on their own generally can do OK because they can get sex whenever and now days are generally less emotional and don't care about things as much
That's not true it's based on the individual. im single but I feel My self esteem is not defined by my relationship status nor do I base my self maintenance on if I'm in a relationship. I care about myself enough to take care of myself and pamper myself
Probably girls, I've read that Girls gain wait in a relationship but lose weight when single. Also girls can generally get sex more easily than a guy can so shell probably enjoy single life more.
