What does it mean if a guy brings up babies?

So I haven't been dating my boyfriend too too long but it's going really well. So well I'm kinda freaking out because I'm not used to it... Anyway the other day he came over my house and some of my family was there with their babies. He's never really been around kids before and I think that kinda set him off. He's mentioned that he does want kids befor, but only in passing. And we both said we don't want to be older parents. But then we had a talk and we both want kids within four years. And we talked about it for a bit then he said "I" needed to stop talking about babies before he falls in love with me.

Wtf?

Also separate question when a guy always says don't do that or ill fall in love with you/I'm gonna fall in love if you../ are you trying to make me love you/etc what does that mean?

He pretty much means you are telling him what he wants to hear, and are the ideal woman for him.

When he hears you say certain things,

It's something he has always wanted to hear from his dream woman, and he catches himself

by making that statement.

Also, you both are in your mid twenties (I assume), so it's only natural he's going to start thinking about how it will be if you both had one together.

You both have been dating for a while.

When you're seeing someone you eventually want more, and the relationship goes through different stages.

yeah we both are, he's two years older than me, but as I said he's not really been around kids a lot and I have. so when we saw my family I was picking them out and paying witht he kids, and he's never even held a baby

Yes , but you two are getting older and not younger so even though he hasn't been around kids it's only natural he may want his own.

What other way IS there to interpret that? It means he's falling for you, obviously. He's just making the confession a little playful, rather than serious and full of pressure.

Maybe he's just doing it without trying to say orshow something and you shouldn't read that much into it. Guys are pretty simple most of time, but if he is giving yousome hints for some reason you could just nicely ask him, if one or other joke was supose to mean something or is it just random jokes he makes. You two are in a relationship, if you can't read the signals you can tell him he is confusing you and you would like to know what's on his mind. Sometimes simple talk makes everything clear.
