My girlfriend doesn't take compliments.. help?

So I'm coping with this problem almost every day... I compliment her about many things not just appearance gifts. But she really is BEAUTIFUL every common friend we have will tell me this and that im lucky and such things.. She won't believe she's pretty. And I believe what I say, I mean it. But she won't take them. What can I do to convince her.. to make her believe that I mean those words? I really mean them!!

Some girls actually need to be convinced they're pretty, while some just want you to give them an ego boost, and some girls don't want to seem conceded so they act like they're not pretty.

I go through the same thing all of the time with my best friend who doesn't believe she's beautiful. She can't take a compliment because she's a tomboy and never really attracted attention from guys so she doesn't believe it when I say how pretty she is.

Other of my not so close friends just like to be complimented so they say how ugly they are, so I can tell them "what are you talking about? you're so pretty!". It gets tiring, but you either get used to it or eventually lash out and tell him to stop being so insecure.

well my gf had a reason for being insecure and lowconfident.. many guys told her before she was with me that she is beautiful and such things just to hook up with her. and she is insecure because of that. but i want her to believe at least me. i really believe she is beautiful. on the inside and outside! how can i make her believe my words?

That's extremely sweet. You should try telling her something really personal about yourself. She sounds like she has trust issues so by trusting her with a deep dark secret will make her feel closer to you, therefore she'll trust you more. She sounds like a girl who's been played too many times, so patience is really important for her to heal. Good luck hun! :)

I USED to be the same way. Now its just flat out annoying when girls know theyre beautiful, say no, and just wait for the "But you are'. But not all girls are like that. just give it time. it will flatten out

nah my gf isn't like the girls you mentioned.. she really doesn't believe she is beautiful but she is gorgeous.

You can't 'fix or save' her. She may have some self esteem issues from people bullying her in the past.

Maybe she doesn't realize she's doing it. Call her out on it or stop complimenting. If you do compliment her be specific in the way it makes you feel.
Say I love that dress, it's fitting and you look stunning in it.

i am the same when i was with my bf he always called me pretty but i just thought he was making fun of me all i can really say is keep telling ur gf look into her eyes and let her see that u mean it i hope it goes well :)

I'm the same way. I never believe when a guy calls me beautiful but just keep saying and give her lots of love and she will believe you with time
