My boyfriend spends his birthday with his family instead of me?

My boyfriend is spending his birthday with his family. He told me I could see him on the day after. Is this a bad thing? He said his family usually takes him out to lunch and a dinner. I asked him why can't I join, he said he could but then he would need to pick me up (he lives an hour away from me) and drive me back home again and he thinks its too stressful to do this. I would like to know your opinion on this. And if I should just see him the day after?

Jeez. Insecure much? If it's going to take and hr to get you, and take you back home when he's supposed to be with his family on HIS birthday, then I would probably do the same as him.

At least you know where he would be, and who he'll be with.

Well unless you're willing to drive out to him yourself and drive home I think you're asking too much. If they have a tradition you shouldn't try to screw with it. That never ends well.

Don't feel bad it's just really inconvenient for him and his family to do that. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong with you.

Lol. If he has the chance to pick u up and drop u off after, he should. Means he would like u to be there in his birthday, even if he has to make a certain effort.

Yeah I do feel excluded a lot because this is my first time celebrating a b-day with him so I really want to make it specia. I really just would like to do it on his birthday but we will see what happens.

Well, it's understandable since he doesn't want to carry the burden of being your transportation. Either drive there yourself if you want to see him so badly or let him spend the day with his family. I don't really think it's a big deal.

Hi. I guess I was being clingy and I should stop being that way. I also should learn how to control my temper around him as well. I told him its all my fault that I got mad over him with such an issue.
