My girlfriend is emotionally immature but I LOVE her?

Im ina relationship with an emotionally immature girl. She gets upset very easily, she's always looking for self-validation, she takes my arguments/opinions personally, everyweek we almost breakup but I pull her back again (flowers, sweet talk.. etc). She wants me to think about her all the time. Basically, she is like a teenage girl. Now, i do not want to break up with her, why? Because i love her. She is very smart and sweet. She is very pretty. She is very caring. I mean I love everything about her. I love being with her, she makes me happy. But her emotional immaturity is causing some tension. How can I deal with it?

You're going to have to talk to her about it. All of it. My first boyfriend had to talk to me about it. It didn't help much with my feelings. I still wanted to "nag him" but I didn't. Eventually we broke up because I was badly insecure and felt he would find someone better all the time. We wound up both losing feelings for each other.
But the only way to possibly get her to realize her actions and how they affect you is to tell her. Then just try to be a great boyfriend. This is a normal teen girl thing most often because it's your first love and you're terrified of losing it so sometimes you hold on too tightly. Tell her that. Tell her you don't want anyone but her she's your everything. I know you sweet talk her when she becomes irrational but do it before she gets there.

Just came here to say she is NOT like a teenage girl. Don't be ageist. I'm a teen girl and I would never do that, many people I know wouldn't either.

Maybe she has a lot of insecurities. I think it's normal to have insecurities though. I think she just likes to feel desired.

Okay, I just don't understand one thing here. You said your girlfriend is very smart, but you also say she is emotionally immature? Well according to me these two sentences are contradictory, logically speaking how can be person be very smart and yet emotionally immature? I mean a smart person will know how to control their emotions, feelings, they are usually very good at managing things. I am surprised at your sentence when you said your girlfriend is very smart yet emotionally immature?

However since you say this, it might be possible because you know her more than anyone else out here.

Smart does not always mean emotionally mature. Many factors play a role in emotional immaturity (parents, culture, bad experiences.. etc) that have nothing to do with being smart. but thanks i will check the link out :)

You can do nothing. It's up to her to get mature and change. Life will teach her, that's the only way someone can possibly get mature.
