Is my boyfriend too busy for me? Or am I exaggerating?

Hello guys

My boyfriend and have been together for 5months,but we've known each other for 3years,last year I moved but we kept in touch we would email and text a lot and at some point we realized we had feelings for each other then we started dating at first he would text and call and email all the time and call me pet names it was so sweet and romantic we have planned to meet this November for Thanksgiving break, but for the past couple weeks I feel like he doesn't give me time anymore,we are both very busy I work and go to school and so does he but I can't go a day without texting or calling or emailing, I feel like am the one doing all the work,like he only make me fit in his schedule when it's convenient for him and I told him that and he was like I hear you but when I don't call you it doesn't mean I love you less it's just because am too busy ,the day we had the talk he called me and texted and was being sweet but after nothing changed I feel more like his friend than his girlfriend my friends give me more attention than he does and I would do anything so that when he emails he includes something sweet like pet names but his emails or text are like hey how you? I don't need him to call me all day cause I don't have that time either but I want affection from him I want us to talk like lovers and not friends!

Is it that maybe he is not ready to have a girlfriend at this time of his life?maybe he is too busy to give attention to anybody else?or maybe this is a guy thing?I really love him that's why I am trying to understand him!

For the past two weeks the sweetest email from him I got was you are the best miss!I know that he Loves me and he is not seeing someone else that I know!

But I feel like am always available to him while my time seems unimportant to him!

Hmm I'm going through the same thing with my guy so I don't know how much help I can be. BUT they say the "honeymoon" stage only lasts about 6 months so maybe your guy in secure in knowing that you are there and love him so he's spending a lot of time focusing on his job.

Guys can be crazy when it comes to work and school. "Experts" say that women are having trouble in their relationships they can't focus on work but when guys have stress/trouble at work they can't focus on their relationship.

I keep telling my boy I miss all the things he used to send and pet names he used to call me. His response? "Oh I don't think I'm doing anything different. Why are you so worried?" UGHHHH

So maybe just tell your guy that you miss that stuff, though he might just say you are overreacting.

Try to give him some space with work/school and just be an understanding girlfriend if you are confident that he's not out with someone else, though it sounds like he is too busy for that. Stay busy yourself and hang with your girlfriends. After a day of not hearing from you he might start picking up the phone more because you aren't constantly texting him anymore.

I can totally understand why you feel like just a friend. But does you guy talk a lot to his friends? Mine is not chatty at all. So the fact you are even getting an email/txt/phone call from a nontalkative guy means that you are more than just a friend.

See if things settle down with work/school maybe he is just going through a stressful period. Mine guy just started work at this law firm and they make him work crazy hours and on the weekend. Talk things over face to face at Thanksgiving and see what he has to say.

I say you are worrying about nothing and just go on being the fun girl he fell in love with and he will be back to normal when things in his life settle down. If you really love him you'll be understanding that he can't talk a lot and if you can't handle that, then you guys aren't mean to be. Got to be patient which is so hard I know

I am going through the same thing in my relationship at the moment. Where this guy once couldn't stop texting me, is now too busy for me because of school. And I know he is busy because we study together at the same school. And I know that he isn't seeing anyone else.

Honestly, I think that's what guys do. They take ONE thing at a time. And they are horrible multitaskers. Don't even expect them to juggle multiple things, like school and relationship.

Frankly, I'm quite worried right now too since he has his exams and he doesn't really text me any lovey dovey things or call me or take out time for me. But I know how he can get during his exams (we've been together for a year so I know) and well, I am trying my best to give him space to just focus on what is on his priority list right now.

Sometimes I am even afraid that he will dump me or something just because of the lack of interest that is visible. But maybe I am being ridiculous and so are you. Just because they don't show it all the time like we do, doesn't mean they don't love us anymore.

Lets stay positive shall we? :)
