probably just wants to earn extra dollars. I've taken a few part time gigs even though I make a good amount of money. I figure if I can earn a bit more I can make that especially expendable income and save more from my primary job.
i understand your concern and I would just be aware if you notice that he really cuts back on time available for you. but also consider that perhaps he's doing it so he can better afford dates or things he would like to do with and for you.
i think you are really taking this too personally too quickly. unless there are issues in your relationship then you are jumping to conclusions...
He wants more money so he can buy you a ring and various other relationship based goodies. Funding a relationship requires a full-time job on it's own.

He is trying to get a few extra bucks so he can pay for holiday expenditures without going into debt. You should be proud of him ,and realize he's being a man and doing what needs to be done, rather than worrying about you.
Maybe he's that greedy, that's all. Some people never have enough.
The economy is so terrible right now that it probably encouraged him to take up another job just in case he gets fired.
He might want to save up for some other things.
