Broken Engagement?

My ex and I were engaged for 2 years and together for 3 years. Throughout the relationship he made comments about my weight that made me uncomfortable despite him saying that he loved me. He claimed that comments such as "your hefty, your behind is a kaboose, and you are not a model" were all innocent but for me they were not and I kept talking to him about the comments because they hurt me. I tried to look past the comments but I couldn't. Besides all of this he would like at Instagram models all of the time and even downloaded their pictures onto his phone. I finally spoke up among me and a family member about all of this and he got very upset and ended the relationship. He ended the relationship and took the engagement ring back and said that we were not getting married so therefore there was no reason for me to keep it. I was devastated. I returned the ring and all of the other gifts by mail. He later text and told me that he only wanted the ring back and asked me not to be mad or have ill will against him because the relationship was over. Then he proceeded to day that I was a good person but I argued a lot. How can I heal from this?
