My ex-GF told me to keep the keys to her place?

My ex-GF had me leave her house for 3 months of space, we share a child together. This is the same ex-GF from my last post. The night before I left, she told me I could keep the set of keys I had but to not stick around, and only call her first before coming over. She also mentioned that her dad may want to change the locks (which I believe is non of his business since it is not his house and it isn’t his life or decision over who his daughter allows on her property) and that if he does she will just give me a new set of keys. I’m confused about all of this. Why not just take her keys back?

If you have the key she has major trust for you , more than likely not having another man around there either because that would be too much to risk , I wouldn't think too much into it, but it does mean she trusts you and feels completely safe with you

I really can't see why she would be so dumb to let you have a key and bring a man around there, you could literally walk in on something happening and that wouldn't be fair to you and extremely awkward for that guy, I'm really sorry for your situation

I didn’t walk in on them. One day she told me things between her and him weren’t good because he tried to control her, wants her to make him priority over our 2-year old son and that she wasn’t going to have anything to do with him anymore, t she still wanted space. Later that day I catch a glimpse of his name on her caller ID and when she speaks in Spanish his name is mixed in the conversation. We have dinner together that night as a family & we’re having a good time and for the second time since the breakup “babe” quietly slips out of her mouth.
A few days later I confront her over text about what I saw on the phone and she told me we are trying to work on getting back together but that she still needs to see change, and that there’s no one but her at her house but won’t bring our kid to see me at the hotel. The next morning I walk on her street and catch a car parked inside her property. I confront her about it she lied to me. After I hang up I walk back over there and the car is gone.

It's one big mess, have you watched any relationship coaches on YouTube about how to get your ex back, it's still a working progress for me too right now with my ex but I do think the relationship coaches advice helped a bit, if you want to try that out, I know I'm desperate right now from my own breakup
by the way I think she realizes her new man isn't marriage material, she's probably using him just to stop herself from thinking about you

I’ve seen lots of videos on YouTube about Rebound Relationships and some stuff from relationships coaches… I won’t pay money to book sessions primarily because money is tight… I guess the whole situation of her seeing someone else 3 weeks after ending things with me is just so hard for me to take after being with her for 4 years and conceiving a child together. I know I shouldn’t show jealousy in any way but it naturally comes out because I don’t like the thought of them being together and doing stuff. We started a family together and I don’t want to share her with anyone or be replaced in any way. And women as you know are confusing so she does or says something one moment and is completely the opposite later on. She’s happy with the guy right now but wasn’t a bit ago. She tends to hide me from her new guy and vice versa and I’m confused by that too.

How long have you been broken up for , maybe she's still in the relief period of the breakup?

It’s hard for us to have space from each other like she says she wants because now I’m homeless and no longer have enough money for a room and I’m uncomfortable with the idea of being in a homeless shelter and friends and family won’t take me in and so she lets me back in her house to sleep while she stays at her parents house because she says she really cares about me and doesn’t want to see anything bad happen to me, especially since I am father of her child. But for someone who wants space from me for a few months her giving me the keys and still talking to me is weird. She also likes to act like she has no more feelings but after 4 years together with a child and 3 months before the breakup telling me she loves me and doesn’t want me to leave I can’t fall for her act. Seeing a guy 3 weeks after the breakup makes it a confusing mess and they’re still together after having a bit of problems as I’ve mentioned above.
Last night I hadn’t had any contact with her for most of the day and she asks me where I am. I respond with “in your thoughts”, she replies back with “not really”. I laugh and respond with “keep telling yourself that, darling”.

Lol she shouldn't be allowed to know where you are after she was the one that broke up with you , you need to keep a bit of mystery to leave her wondering what your at, if she thinks you sitting around waiting for her to decide when she wants to come back she will never feel the pressure to reconcile
