Why did my ex message me first then not reply back to me?

So my ex last week wanted to ring me to clear the air and he wanted to apologise to me. He said the way he treated me was wrong and he said knows that now and that his sorry and that I treated him amazing, I’m the best looking girl his ever been with and gets jealous of that sometimes and also said I was the best sex his had. He asked if we could meet up to chat and I said possibly I just feel abit shocked by all this because after things ended he dated someone else I asked him what happened with her and he said It just didn’t feel right. Then 3 days ago he requested to add me on Instagram and I thought I’d just accept the add he then messaged me on Instagram saying he had a dream about me and I replied back saying did anything decent happen in it? And he hadn't bothered to write back to my question. I now don’t know if he just wanted to talk to me due to boredom or what? and what he was saying to me on the phone was just load of rubbish. What do you guys think?

Clearly you still have feelings for him to give him the time of day, but I think you should be strong and implement no contact. Ex’s are notorious for coming back with their sorries, talking about how they messed up, they want you back, Etc, and not putting in effort to back up all those claims. If he caused you a lot of hurt then don’t give him the chance to do it again. Who knows why he’s acting this way, but please don’t waste time trying to figure it out.

Who knows, had a similar problem but if they don't reply afterwards screw them that was there only chance if they had one.
