How do you feel about this phrase "what did you do to deserve it?" when it comes to abuse?

How do you feel about it? I think it's wrong. "what did you do to deserve it?" or "what did you do to provoke them?"

I asked this because many years ago, an ex of mine chose to attack me with a broken pool cue, and ended up slicing my face up.. This is because I was sick of her abuse and kicked her out. The female. police told me that I was lucky that I was not going to jail, if she had so much as broken a nail hitting me, I would be in cuffs, she laughed at me when I tried to press charges against my ex. The female doctor laughed at me and asked what I did to deserve it.

Why is it OK to blame the victim, if the victim is male?

Ask an attorney and your case is quite unique. but not leaving the situation at first incident…file an informal police report, etc. This “one time incident” was provoked for sure…he must have cheated on her etc..

Usually the abuse is by one we know who knows our strengths and weaknesses. In these cases the “what did you do to deserve” does not hold when sociopathic individual is in charge..

Now SM and internet pics with your junk hanging out everywhere…why do I get stalked🤷🏻‍♂️. Go to Frat party with junk all hanging out and drinking, and then going into the Room and participating in those group activities…. All that and to claim rape.-Yes, what did you do to deserve it. And, don’t kid yourself the same Vibe and Room etc is rolling in some of the Sorority parties but situation reversed.

But in the physical abuse maintaining presence in that situation works out as, “It’s your fault.. you did it to yourself…you must like it…what you want from me…this is on you”
