Is it normal for exes still in contact to do things such as share food/feed each other food?

My ex and I live apart but have 2 children together so we get together from time to time to do things as a family. We recently went to an event together as a family with our daughters. They sold desserts and food at the event and he bought us some. While we were eating it, he fed me a few bites of his food and we were sharing spoons, drinks, etc. Is this normal behavior for exes?

Even my guy buds spoon-feed each other, although we might be doing it a bit for laughs along with female friends. But ex is tough! If you don't have a boyfriend, I think maybe not so bad. But if you do, I think that is in bad taste if you let him spoonfeed you in front of your boyfriend. I would never let my ex-girlfriends do that to me in front of my wife. I keep a distance as far as good taste. If you have no one like this though, I think fine. Whatever!

That's like a whole new dimension when you wanna get back with him. Mind-blown. I don't like it if I'm blunt. Why aren't you together then if you can share food like this so intimately but still be apart if you want to be together? Is the guy just messing around? Isn't there a good chance he's stringing you along?

so what you're saying is, this isn't normal then? i don't think he's stringing me along. he has given me no indication of wanting to get back together... i just believe he's very comfortable with me. although, i noticed he still has things of mine in his car, i'm under his insurance still (he wants to keep it that way), etc. we're not together because our relationship got too toxic towards the end and he called it quits. we were actually engaged

I think most of the people who are anti-contact with an ex had less-than-cordial breakups. I have never had a bad one, and I would not keep dating a girl if I did not like her as a person, so if the romance fizzles the friendship generally remains.

To be completely honest it is definitely not normal but he might still have feelings for you but being that you have a family together it might be easier for the kids to accept

the thing is, he was the one that ended things with me 5 months ago. we were actually engaged and set to be married next year but things were rough and toxic the few months before the breakup so he ended it. now it has been 5 months apart and we are on friendlier terms so i'm having a hard time figuring out if he is just comfortable with me and being friendly or old feelings are coming back

he had a big schedule change for work that really impacted our home life. it caused resentment, exhaustion, etc. so that whenever he was home, we would argue a lot and we both became frustrated and unhappy. there was also a girl he met during his new shift at work that he eventually opened up to about his stressful home life and she would try to convince him to leave and he eventually caved and believed that was the right thing to do. he was attracted to her and i caught him texting her just days after our breakup. they no longer talk now.

I would definitely fall back on him a lot. I know family life can be very stressful a lot. But things do eventually get easier but for him to be talking to another girl on the side behind your back that is not acceptable. He definitely realizes that he made a mistake but it would take a lot to correct the issues. You sound like a very nice woman how old are your kids

right, i would count what he did as emotional cheating. a lot was one the line and he just left all of it thinking the grass would be greener on the other side. our kids are 3! they're twins. i still have hopes of being a family again but it has already been 5 months and he has not come forward about wanting to try again so i'm not sure if that's just wishful thinking on my end.

I don't think is healthy to go that far. Sure, you both can care your kids to a place. To actually act like you're still with your partner. I don't know, it will bring more conflicts than you imagine.

5 months is fresh. This may sound harsh, but you guys needs to be apart, for the sake of your kids. They'll not understand how important it is to move on completely, if you continue flirt like nothing is happening.

wait, 5 months is considered fresh? i was always told chances of reconciliation with an ex is low if it's close to 6 months or more. how long would you consider a break up no longer "fresh"? do you consider teasing flirting? he teases me a lot. not in a rude way but will poke fun at me but i never know if it's just him being friendly or if it's flirting
