Meeting ex boyfriend’s family?

I met my ex boyfriend this year and we roughly dated for 4 months and then we broke up, one of the reasons being long distance (he moved for college temporarily. Him and I have been on okay terms and he invited me to meet his family for the first time for New Year’s Eve. I told him I would go but what would he introduce me as and he said his friend. What does this mean? Does he see me as a friend? Does he still see me as a potential girlfriend?

When I read this opportunity, I was like lucky you. Even though you are Friends and he is Ex, this says much about who your Person is. He obviously holds you in high regard and as more than a back-up Plan.
It seems like he wants his family to check you out even though you are not officially dating. This suggests a possible future and he is efficient in his thinking and doing.
The work is already in progress in case you are the one. I would not pressure and go with the flow. If his Mother likes you and sees you two as a good fit then he will be much more comfortable with you.

Ultimately, this is really nothing right now. As a guy though, anyone who meets my family has Something going for them.
In my mind, this does not mean you stop dating etc. Enjoy the friendship and see where it goes? Make sense?

Only he knows for sure, but I wouldn’t assume it’s anything more than friendship
