Divorce. Is it the case that women in America leave their husbands for fickle reasons?

As a foreigner observing what I see in America from the large numbers of divorced female neighbours where I live it seems to be the case. As a Catholic naturally I don't believe in divorce but still in the majority of cases that I've seen the husband was an average enough fellow working to provide for his wife and kids when his wife decided she wasn't happy & blamed him for it.

Well apparently more women than men in America own their homes, there is a reason for this. When I look at the divorced wives in my neighbourhood financially they are doing quite well, even the ones who don't work with alimony payments, child support and divorce settlements. The only thing I would say about them is that even though most of them instigated the divorces usually for fickle reasons it's seems they are no happier in fact I would say they are miserable and also their kids suffer. And when their ex husbands find love again they get bitter about it. The men they date tend to treat them very badly using them for sex, money and a rent free place to stay. Now I try not to judge these divorced women but having spoken to them on occasion it quickly becomes apparent in most cases that they divorced their exs for no reason.

Well I’ve never been married or have kids.
So I’m not sure how to answer.

I’m not sure. Usually they leave the husband because the husband is a cheating ANIMAL/ PIG, who is obviously gonna bring STDs and Diseases to you. It’s not just about the disrespect and him going elsewhere to caress his ego and nut into another woman. Or please another woman.

It’s because a cheating demonic creature will bring diseases to you. 🫵
This happened to my mother as well. She’s been with my Dad for my entire 25 years. And one day she found out he gave her HPV, however she stayed with him because of the tradwife tradition. And everyone in the family just ignored it.

You as woman. If you catch HPV specifically. HPV if it goes unchecked or untreated. It can literally give you cancer and end you 🫵.
( not the man, you the woman)

And let’s not forget diseases such as chlamydia & syphilis. These STDs if they go untreated as well. These can literally make you go infertile for life! 🫵

Most of these STDs don’t affect the animal / dog / pigs that are men.
But usually affects the women.

And don’t get me started on AIDS, HIV. These can end anyone 💀 you’re gonna be taking pills for the rest of your life.

So no. Women don’t divorce for fickle reasons. If you stay with a cheating man. You’re accepting all the possible diseases that come with that 🤡

I think this is similar to break up, why should you break up when you can work on the issues that make both of you unhappy?

So that you meet someone new, spend 1 year honeymoon period with them and fall into the same problems all over again? Because we all know when there are two people, there will be problems, doesn’t matter how idealistically compatible you think you are.

I believe relationships are worth the work and they need nurturing just like a child, so that love can grow instead of decrease.

That’s why I was so upset that my ex fiance decided to break up instead of making things work.

Sadly, yes it's true. In the US, half of marriages end in divorce, and 80% of them are initiated by women.

Women like to excuse that behavior by claiming it's men's fault, but the facts prove otherwise. If we compare the divorce rates of heterosexual couples with gay and lesbian couples, we see that the highest divorce rate, by far, is among lesbian couples, and the lowest is among gay couples. The rate among heterosexuals is somewhere in between, but closer to the rate for gays. In other words, women are the common denominator in divorce. If there are no women involved in a marriage, there are few divorces. Add one woman and the rate increases significantly. Add two women and divorces becomes very likely.

Why is that? Because modern women are self centered and have no sense of commitment. And here in the US, the legal system is such that women are incentivized to divorce. Divorce hurts men and benefits women.

Women have all but destroyed the institution of marriage in the US. Unless something changes drastically, marriage will be a thing of the past in another generation or two.

All too often. In fairness, men sometimes leave their wives for fickle reasons, too, but given how family laws are set up in this country, few men reach adulthood without having seen men they know be financially destroyed by divorce, so they tend to be more gunshy.

Our culture doesn't respect marriage. That may seem a ludicrous assertion, given that we routinely issue bridal magazines that require a forklift to carry, but those aren't about marriage, they're about weddings. We DO take weddings seriously, even they're by far the least important part of a marriage.

Americans marry with unrealistic expectations, they expect marriage to be happy without any effort from either partner, and they file for divorce at the first sign of conflict.

But many times…. People marry the wrong one and they know it. But can’t admit it.

I divorced my wife because she, both of her grown son’s, sister and father turned out to be narcissists. Narcissistic people can prey upon the emotions of bi polar individuals. That is what happened to me.

I gave of myself in my marriage. My ex wife, two stepsons, on the other hand, were always playing the part of the victim very well. Those outside her family, including me for a short time, saw my ex as this amazingly, kind, individual who was the mother of a son with drug and alcohol addictions. My wife’s ex boyfriend before me had a tendency to be an asshole. This allowed for my ex to have people feeling sorry for her. Then I come along with my bi polar, which I was upfront and honest about, before we married. I was fun to be around until I crashed.

Then I became an obstacle. With all the kindness I offered, I was NEVER shown any mercy or appreciation during my bad times. This is when I became the BAD husband. This is when my ex became a victim. My ex also never shared in the expenses needed for a husband and a wife to build something together, intentionally. Why, because it would have made me happy.

So anytime I tried to be the GOOD husband, my ex found ways to crater my mood so that I looked like a BAD husband.

By me giving of myself and being a GOOD husband, the spotlight shifted from her to me. SHE had to always be the GOOD wife that had the misfortune of always dealing with the problems of family.

She had no life outside of family because those outside of family were seen as living contradictory to her beliefs and letting anyone outside, of family, in, would interfere with her family life.

Her mother on the other hand, God rest her soul, was a real sweetheart. Unfortunately, my ex inherited traits from the wrong side of her family.

My ex brother in law and I got along great because he was a gentle soul. His younger son, my nephew at the time, he also is a gentle soul. None of us EVER had issues with one another and both saw what I was living with.

My ex in the end, fucked her self.

It certainly seems to be.

80% of divorces are initiated by women. The UK and USA share that statistic. "Irreconcilable differences" is the majority of cases. Frankly that suggests they didn't commit to genuine counselling and reconciliation.

I've seen guys accused of adultery without any proof when it's common knowledge the woman was the town slapper and the judgement goes against the man. One case where the husband had hospital records from being assaulted by the wife where he lost custody of the children because - again without evidence - she simply stated he'd been "abusive", and six months later she was arrested for murdering both kids.

The system is stacked against men in general both in the USA and increasingly the UK and Europe.

This is exactly why you shouldn’t marry someone just one year after dating. You’d still be in the honeymoon phase and haven’t faced enough “challenges” that might make or break the relationship. Of course, this doesn’t apply to everyone. Personally, I would recommend dating for 3 years and then tying the knot. It seems ideal.

I’m not a fan of couples who get married when they’re not sure about each other or when they have kids to make their relationship “okay” again. However, sometimes, people just grow apart and that’s okay. Why would you be married to someone you don’t have anything in common with?

Also, some people have unrealistic expectations of marriage and are not good at handling conflicts. They should probably get better at managing their relationships or else, every single one they enter into will fall apart sooner or later. Marriage isn’t always rosy.

I really believe that somewhere along the way, men and women in their married life, loose the thrill, the excitement of doing something.

So they go in search for it. But unfortunately, the one thing that should not be done by women is done by them. Divorce.

The new life, I guess, gives them some sense of excitement, availability among other things. But alas, these are temporary feelings. But the divorce is kind of a permanent thing though.😂

And then, I guess again, they are left miserable when things cool down even a bit.

I know for sure, abusive relationships are the biggest factor, but surely there are other reasons as well. Studies show that the average human gets bored with their partner after 12 years. I honestly had no idea so many women mess around with other men, behind their husband's back, until I came on GAG. I had a couple straight up told me, they've only been with one men and crave something different, but don't act on it because of moral reasons. Most married women will sext and send nudes, but draw the line at physical sex. Although I've also met married women who WERE looking to date, especially younger guys

The statistics say women initiate divorce 80% of the time. The vast majority of that is boredom or they found someone else to fuck.. Abuse and cheating only accounts for 5 to 10% of that. The rest is fickle idiocy. It's as if women see marriage as something thry can wipe their asses with and flush down the toilet.

The court system (the govt) took away the meaning of marriage. No fault divorce…anyone can leave for any reason. Nothing about family and their offspring… so kids suffer….. they grow up and do the same…cycle repeats.

For the people I know of who got divorced, if anything they waited much too long. There were fundamental differences that were making both of them unhappy. Why stay in an unhappy marriage?

Sometimes yeah but the man can be just as much to blame as well. I was raised by my dad from the age of 12 years old. My dad liked to spend money we didn't have and my mom ended up turning to drugs.
