Girl you're dating is moving away

The guy I've been seeing told me he's starting to have feelings for me but, I just found out I might have to leave for good (not sure yet). We're not official but, like each other a lot. He said he'll miss me but, is acting distant all of a sudden. Why is this happening?

I'm so sad. If I'm not drinking, I'm crying or passed out drunk on my couch. My hair is falling out, I'm breaking out with zits/rashes and losing weight that I can't afford to lose. I don't want to talk to anyone but, him & he's not talking to me. :(

He won't answer my calls or text at all now. It was all fake! He never cared about me.

He doesn't want to get hurt. A pretty understandable reaction. Do you really have to go? Is that reason more important than him?

I lost my job and will be running out of $ very soon if I don't get a new one pretty much NOW. So, I have to move back home which is 3000 miles away. He doesn't know how bad my financial situation is.

I don't know what your line of work is,but it seems you could try and find something in the area. If he is worth it to you, that is. You have some time to try and connect with him. I understand you are in a lot of pain and my heart goes out to you. Sometimes things just don't make any sense..

I've tried but, my finances are really bad. If I stay too long, I won't be able to pay rent so, best thing to do is go home and live rent free until I find a job

He's taking his distance to protect himself. He doesn't want to fall for you if you have to move.

That's what I thought. It's not certain that I have to go but, we'll still have a month together. I thought he would at least want to enjoy the time we have left. :(

I'd be more a better to have loved and lost to have never loved at all kinda guy. But not everyone is like that.

That's my thinking too. Like I said above, this shows me he wouldn't be there for me in the bad times. :(

If he didn't care about you, he would be at your place. He'd be trying to get it on with you. If he's completely shutting you out, that means he propably does care, he just doesn't want to get hurt.

That doesn't make sense to me. Now he turned off his phone. I've been crying non-stop and need him. I'm never calling him again. He's leaving me here to suffer alone

I tried everything to get him to see me. NOTHING worked. He's ignoring me completely.

Don't get any closer to him then because long distance doesn't work esp if you guys arne't even dating to begin with.

he likes you so much he doesn't want to lose you and get hurt. He doesn't want a long distance relationship if you have to move away. That's why he's acting distance

I guess I understand but, wouldn't that make him want to be with me more until I go?

yea I guess it would be, but if he's with you he will want to be with you all the time and he won't want you to leave

I would love to be with him until the last day (if it even happens). If it turns out I can stay, I don't know if I would be able to trust him to be there for me in the bad times.

I was kind of an emotional mess last time I saw him. One moment I was over the moon, next moment I was angry at this city for letting me down. At the time, he didn't know anything about what was going on. So, I probably seemed like I was bi-polar (alcohol was involved). The next day, I told him what was going on via text.

I hope he comes around because, I don't have much time left. I don't even think I'll be here a whole month if I have to go. You think he just needs a bit of time?

yea I think he needs more time, he's just upset that you might be leaving.

He told me he always knew I would end up going back to my hometown. I guess that's why he never got too close in the beginning. Then when he's ready... I drop this one on him. Should I just leave him alone until he's ready to talk to me?
