Do you believe in/think the "bad pancake" theory is credible?

It's a theory I first heard about in the TV show I watch called Younger, where one character states this idea that you will fuck it up with the first person you date after breaking up from a long term or serious relationship, much like how the first pancake you cook is always burnt or messed up.

Anyone agree/disagree with this?

Heyyy who said the first pancake I make is always burnt or messed up? :( Sometimes maybe lol but not always haha :P ;) On a serious note though, I disagreed. Whether or not you mess up after a LTR depends on lots of things like how long after you wait to start seeing other people, your state of mind, your personality generally speaking and the person you're seeing. Just like my pancake skills there is hope yet... It's not always burnt and messed up that first time ;)

I've tried to avoid the pancake issue by buttering the pan, letting the butter brown, then wiping the pan with a paper towel and adding more butter thus attempting to create a pan environment that's similar to a second pancake. Perhaps people should do the same on first relationships. I have no idea what that means.

People who fuck up their first pancake are those who decide to wing it instead of following the recipeeee.
People have been burning pancakes for as long as there have been pancakes lol , there's no excuse to make the same mistake.
