My therapist told me to "breakup" with this guy?

I am 26, started seeing this 34 year old guy. I've known him for 9 months, and we have been dating for 2. He treats me well, does whatever I ask, is very caring and sensitive, and pays attention to details. Because he is a pushover, my therapist told me that I should dump him, because I am gonna get bored of him very quickly anyways. Thoughts?

stop seeing your therapist, therapist don't tell you what to do they help you reach conclusions so that you can make choices.
or maybe if the therapist has known you for a while he might like you and is jealous.

Therapists are not supposed to give you direct advice like that, they're supposed to help you come to your own ideas and conclusions, you need to find a new one.

Your therapist is giving you advice. Think this through though, because this person doesn't say it out of nowhere. However, it is your decision whether you can handle him and his behavior for the rest of your life or not.

There's probably more to it then what you're telling, so ask yourself why the therapist actually said that.
