Would you date a teacher?

Well, would you? Most people hate teachers these days... I've been told a lot by men that my being a teacher is not attractive at all. Well, they think it's cool at first but then the more I talk to them the more they have nothing but negative things to say about my profession and it ends up that they don't respect it at all. It's never really anything about me directly... but I do get the 'teachers are unfair' and 'they don't do their jobs anyway' and 'they get paid for doing absolutely nothing' and blah blah blah...

This question is more for men, but I guess women can vote, too.

That's honestly just about the ideal job I'd want my partner to have. Correct me if I'm wrong, but she'd only have to work 7-8 hours a day, with the weekends off, plus Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, Spring break, and Summer break. I guess I have a similar impression of teachers to most of the guys you talked to, but I see it as a positive thing. All I'm hearing is that I'd get to spend more time with her.

It would be even more ideal if she taught young kids, because I'm sure it's a lot less stressful. Plus, an average of 40k per year would be more than enough of a contribution since I should end up making up to 70k and I'm content with a 1-bedroom apartment and no kids.

Some teachers do a very good job and put in a lot more hours than they are actually paid for. Others do a very poor job.
The ones that do good, I think would make good parents, so they would make a good partner. But if she spends too much time with it and doesn't come home to spend time with her own family, then it would be a problem.

As a student, I can really appreciate how hard teachers work. The most annoying thing is that some people think a teacher's job ends once school closes. No way; there are lesson plans and homeworks that need marking and you can't half-ass them. I'm so lucky to have had amazing teachers who put in the time because they really care about how well their students do.

Those are some pretty stupid reasons to not date a teacher. I don't really care what a person's profession is as long as it's something they can support themselves with... and it's not illegal. What do they mean "teachers do nothing"? Have you seen some of these bad-ass kids these days?

It's strange that people would judge others on a romantic level by their career. Lol it's just funny to me when people do that. I see nothing wrong with dating a teacher but I wouldn't do it because I'm still a student XD

Yes, but probably not an elementary school teacher though. Being a teacher isn't a turn off to me, though it would suck to be tied to the school holidays for vacations (everywhere is scorching, overcrowded with Asian tourists and expensive).

Of course, anyone who can put up with multiple children on a daily basis deserves a ton of respect. If they can get them to take something in, so much the better.

My children are angels, of course, it's just the other ones that are a pain.

No because the kids they would be teaching would be assholes etc and they would likely have headaches every day + its kinda illegal for a student to date a teacher

Sure. They are as a group overpaid where i live, but that's the union being strong and the government being corrupt, not individual teacher's fault.

If I were a man I would not. A teacher is a job most women take so they can leave and become homemakers instead. Laziness to me. They also don't make shit.

No , never. Their life is too complicated. They don't have peace of mind when they bring work at home. And they have to keep on revising the next days topics all the time.

No idea why that'd be an issue and as far as marriage goes there are great health care benefits for the whole family. Seems like a win win.

Teachers are one of the most respected professions. Public always defends teachers. In regards to dating teachers I have no problem.
